Hey hey hey friends! I’m back in Texas for April and this spring I’ve been dedicating my time to creative collaborations with local grassroots like @savebigbend and @publiclandstexas fighting against this administration’s construction of Mexico-U.S. border walls in the Big Bend Region and across the Southwest. I want to ✨officially✨ share again that I am open for commissions for graphic poster and flyer design, but more importantly: if you’re part of a coalition, non-profit, or community-run group in an active fight against the evils of this administration: I WANT TO COLLABORATE WITH YOU! I am happy to offer my first design free-of-charge as a volunteer contribution. :) I spent Easter weekend designing these flyers: a simple celebration of spring on the border; set of 6 color palettes! Graphic design has become a surprise passion for me this year, and all I want is to help raise the volume of the voices protecting our borderlands and their communities. ♥️ For details on how to request a volunteer design or a commission, please drop me a line here on the gram OR write me directly [email protected] 🌞

New flyers for @savebigbend PROTEST in ATX! 19 days away! This design is one of a few being sent to a local print shop here in LA this week, to catch some eyes and help pull support from our friends and lovers in California for @nobigbendwall 💙 *The prickly pear cactus thriving under Texas skies; I wanted to create a more pop art forecast to attract more attention to the cause and the efforts underway in protecting our parks. It’s also fairly realistic to the natural colors you can see every day in far West Texas. Please stay involved, please keep supporting the many many voices actively fighting for our parks and for far West Texas @annaclairebeasley @sammiecarrots @tylerpriest @drew.heugel @lizpotterphotography @jane_wilder @publiclandstexas @bigbendsentinel A list of resources, guides, important updates on how to protect Big Bend National and Big Bend Ranch State Park: 💚NO WALLS! PROTECT OUR PARKS! 🧡 #noalmuro #nobigbendwall #savebigbend Designs created with @canva

📌 This summer I am OPEN for graphic poster & flyer gigs! I am spending the next 4 months between California and Chicago, and I’m yours to hire while on the road!! ✨ 🖼️ My go-to is to play on handmade paper prints and retrospective advertising; textured, feminine, scenic - maybe a touch kitschy? I love whippin’ up visuals for other creatives. If you’re interested and have something in mind you’d like to be put on the page, please drop me a line for deets! *(I’m still pay-what-you-can for the time being, $50 is my average rate per design! If you’re looking for a thoughtful flyer to support the good cause of a coalition or grassroots movement, I’m happy to volunteer one design/poster for free!) 🌅 I’ll be back in Texas in early September. Don’t take your eyes off of @nobigbendwall this summer, y’all. No a los muros! Save Big Bend! Protect the Southwest! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

I turned 29 in the Rio Grande, and Big Bend is alive as I am. We celebrated life. It was magic. I brought my camera. Here's 10 of my favorite shots. 1.) Morning on the Rio Grande, Big Bend Ranch State Park @bigbendranchsp 2.) The Hoodoos 3.) Self-portrait by the Rio (sitting in Texas, looking towards Mexico) 4.) Longnose gar in the Rio 5.) Strawberry cactus in bloom on the Hoodoos Trail 6.) Mom and Texas palo verde 7.) View of the Window in the Chisos Basin, Big Bend National Park @bigbendnps 8.) Rio Grande silvery minnows 9.) The Rio Grande through Santa Elena Canyon 10.) Light test/closeup self-portrait on River Road Thank y’all so so so much for the birthday love this weekend!! 29 feels good. I feel good. My phone is still on hold in the workshop – so if ya need to get ahold of me, my dms are open! Follow @nobigbendwall to see what you can do to help protect the Big Bend Region: our ranches, our parks, our towns that thrive along the Rio Grande. DHS is the biggest danger it has ever been to the Mexico-U.S. borderlands. Walls, construction camps, surveillance technology, the military are the only cause of destruction and chaos on the border. Not immigration. NO A LOS MUROS! SAVE BIG BEND! PROTECT THE SOUTHWEST!

Fresh trio of flyers for Earth Day! We're keeping the fight against this administration's plan to degrade Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park, our towns, our neighbors, our landowners, our hearts for this edge of the country. Stay connected @nobigbendwall for resources on how to get involved or support the efforts to protect our parks and our communities. 🌞***Signing off from my screen porch – I'm currently without a phone, so for now it's just me and my Mac!

👋🏻 Hey, birthday girls!!! Popping by to share the process of my newest design project: the sweet sound of a screen door for my mama’s birthday. 💗 My mom is an old-school Baltimore gal, and one of her favorite childhood memories is riding in the backseat of her parents’ car and seeing the neighbor’s freshly painted screen doors. It’s an urban art that I attempted to create digitally: a screen painted egg white, with hand-painted flowers (maybe roses or a ghost of a hydrangea?) and a simple handwritten happy birthday sign. 💚 I also added a detail of fresh spring rain, just to give it realistic touch of April weather. The finished look appears very simple, though it was tricky to finish - a whooooole lotta layers and 5 1/2 hours of Sabrina Carpenter on repeat can make a good birthday card. :) I am 🪄open🪄 for commissions and projects for April, please drop a line if you’d like to be collaboratin’ something good 🎂

Fresh flyers for you, boss!! DHS is making yet another bad mistake if they think business owners here in the tri-county want their money. This stack of flyers is a continuing “No Walls No Camps” project to advocate for the rights of all who live, work, and share their life in Presidio, Brewster, and Jeff Davis County. By law, private businesses in the state of Texas have the right to refuse sales of goods or services to any person employed or contracted by DHS, which includes ICE and CBP agents and officers - and border wall construction workers - without a judicial warrant. I’m more than happy to email these flyers as a print PDF to any business interested in having a copy in their window or on their counter! ❤️‍🔥 Keep in touch with @nobigbendwall and @bigbendsentinel to know the latest in our efforts to fight against construction of border walls in the Big Bend Region.

For @publiclandstexas my third ‘n final set of flyers to support the protest rally TOMORROW @savebigbend at the state capitol, on the south steps at 4pm! 🕊️ If you’re not able to attend the rally, spend this weekend in unity with @nobigbendwall efforts to protect Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, the tri-county, and all of far West Texas down to the Rio Grande Valley from border wall construction and militarization of Texas borderlands. I’ve been back in the tri-county for a week now, and the energy here in Fort Davis is high. Big Bend border walls and proposed ‘smart’ surveillance military technology would severely disrupt the Davis Mountain ecosystems, our dark skies and scientists at the McDonald Observatory, and cost our landowners and local businesses devastatingly. Jeff Davis County is a jewel box of Texas conservation and preservation! We’re home to @davismountainssp @cdri_naturecenter @mcdonald_observatory and the Davis Mountains Preserve @nature_org 💚 We are in constant living solidarity with the Big Bend and our tri-county neighbors. There are many steps for us to continue making in fighting DHS military taking over the Big Bend Region. 📩 -Contact your local representatives and our TX state government; call, write emails, postcards; messages to their public accounts to demand they use their power to say NO to Texas border walls and ‘smart wall’ technology for militarization on the border. -Sign your name with nearly 110,000 others to the petition to demand our Texas governor and senators to cease all plans to build border walls in Big Bend National and Big Bend Ranch State Park. -Submit public comment to the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) website by Monday, April 6th to make your objections to border walls directly known. -Support your local journalists and writers who are reporting and documenting what this region is facing under this administration @bigbendsentinel @marfapublicradio -Support local voices who are sharing their stories and the daily impacts Texas border wall construction is bringing to their lives, huge shout to @como_la_flor_tx and her family! -Keep making art, keep writing, keep being SEEN

BIG BEND IS IN DANGER. Many reports have suggested that the wall is no longer planned for #BigBend National and State Parks because #CBP changed the color of their lines on an online map. Don’t be fooled. These changes only serve to reduce public pressure. All evidence on the ground suggests they are moving full steam ahead with this disastrous folly. Survey stakes have appeared in the state park. Helicopter surveys are being conducted in the national park. Landowners are getting calls demanding access to their land, demanding to know how much sand and gravel they have. Man camps are being planned to house hundreds of workers. Roads are being improved. Most obviously, CONTRACTS HAVE BEEN AWARDED, including to the notorious Fisher Sand & Gravel, a company infamous for blasting through mountains in national parklands of Arizona to build the wall. And it’s not just Big Bend. The federal government has gone wall crazy. They are destroying public lands left and right in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, pushing the wall through sacred and special places that congress formerly exempted. And across Arizona and New Mexico, where the wall was completed several years ago, they now want to build a SECOND WALL, just a hundred yards in from the first. You can’t make this shit up. But we don’t have to live with this. Make your voice heard THIS SATURDAY, 4/4, at 4:00 pm on the steps of the State Capitol in Austin. Tell the governor you don’t wan’t the State of Texas offering any support to the federal government for this vile idiocy. Tell him to protect the #BigBendRanch State Park and to put pressure on his buddy Trump. Tell our Senators you don’t want to see Texas mutilated for a pointless vanity wall. Tell our legislature you want to see Texas private property rights respected and not threatened with eminent domain. Bring your energy and your passion and your commitment to see this fight through. Big thanks to all the creators who have been boosting this issue, the reporters digging up the records, the folks making their voices heard. Follow @sammiecarrots @savebigbend @bigbendsentinel @marfapublicradio @laiks____ and @nobigbendwall . Original design by @labeccabright .
