Each race taught me so much
So much about marathoning
About myself and what running meant
Seeing how what it meant evolve
To a stressful first marathon after my first ever injury (and only ππ½)
To a second marathon screaming don't F around with the 26.2 and loads of lessons learned about racing away from home and that every marathon is unique and needs adjustments
Then the one that clicked
The PB and National Record
Tried chasing that or a better time for 4 & 5
Thank goodness for mental tenacity
I did not beat myself up for missing the goals
I was already feeling glorious, I had gotten so far Then the ultimate goal, the 6 star found its way to me
What a journey, so much has happened and changed in my life because of running
Could not have become the athlete I am without my Coach @joeshayne and all my friends and teammates @teamwrk
My family for bearing the weight of my training and trips away from home. My husband for holding down the fort. What a guy! My boy for being my biggest cheerleader and his nanny @itsaracelytah for keeping an eye out
My extended family, long time friends and colleagues cheering me on all through these 6 stars.
Big thanks to all those who have supported me those last 2+ years. I take none of it for granted.
No words
Just heart deep in love and gratitude
For what this sport has given me
What it has shown me and who it has brought me
