'House of Desaparecidxs' Summer Tour - Part 2 This was a specially challenge edition since the prices of the gas had sky rocket and we couldn't take the beautiful scenography -we had worked so hard on with us- buaaa!! But checked what we did with the scenographic vision of @rasureitor 🖤 Touched & grateful to keep on sharing these stories, this diasporic mourning ritual, to reclaim the body as a site of memory, belonging and rooting. And to have dare to share smt so personal on stage 🥴 'House of Desaparecidxs' is a tribute to the mothers, fathers who were part of the social movements and leftist militias of the 70s. To all those censored, silent and stuck stories inside us that slowly start to be heard, find a place, find release, get unveil, sublimate, and perhaps even alchemize... Thanks to @ogutumuraya for offering a dramaturgy to scar, to @lux_sauer for the deep and gentle cellular and bone dive, to @nikasorzano for the sharp puzzling mind in bringing the piece together, to @la_na_dia for the skillful and handy dyke hands, to Natalia C. for time traveling into the stories that made us left Colombia a decade ago. Lo que se ha gestado en estos últimos 5 años en la escena Latino Americana migrante aquí en Holanda, no tiene precedentes, cada vez mas colectivas, iniciativas chidas e incendiarias, es increíble y es más que lo que jamas hubieramos imaginado todxs lxs que estuvimos en el comienzo de este movimiento emergente aquí en NL. What If Theatre Refused to Be Safe? A long-durational co-curated night by Flavia Pinheiro & Simomo Bouj. We start outside at 17:23 Sunset with percussion as a living procession, celebration as resistance, movement as refusal to “play dead.” From there we enter the theatre for an evening that moves between performance, music, food, embodied invitations, and moments of collective attention. As one of the few queer/trans collectives in the Netherlands led by migrants and refugees from the Global South, Papaya Kuir employs a unique approach that combines activism, art, and community-based initiatives. Papaya Kuir is a horizontal, bottom-up lesbian-transfeminist collective, founded by and for Latin American migrants and refugees living in the Netherlands, and the broader community interested in the struggle. Their work centers marginalized people such as refugees, sex workers, and working-class trans and queer Latin Americans, and through educational artistic projects and solidarity practices, they strive for emancipation together. As an anti-capitalist collective, they oppose genocide and advocate for the rights of transgender people and migrants, a fact that is always clearly evident in all their events. Tu y yo siempre conectadxs como me repetias de pequeña entre tus grandes y estrujadores manos y abrazos.  Como despedirte si siento que no puedo vivir sin ti y cada vez que te pienso siento que mi corazón se quiebra y siento caerme en un abismo sin fin... Enseñame a hablarte entre las nubes, a acariciarte a través del agua, a escucharte en el canto de los pajaros y una canción aleatoria que escucho en las calles del mundo tocando un son de Willie Colón, Fito Paez o los Beatles. ¿Como despedirte si siento que no puedo vivir sin ti? Es raro porque aunque te extraño y el solo pensamiento llena de aguaceros y tormentas mis ojos y me devuelve a esos dulces pasados donde me llevabas en el carro cruzando las crudas calles de Bogotá, esas donde te criaste y curtiste el cuero grueso. Entre esos recuerdos sin tiquete de retorno, me doy cuenta que no puedo vivir sin ti... No se quien sería sin ti y jamas podría ser ninguna version de mi sin tu voz juguetona, mirada dulce y abrazo incondicional... Papaya Kuir nació de la necesidad de nuestra comunidad lesbo-marica-trans de Abya Yala de hacer la vida migra no solo llevadera, sino plena de amor, apoyo y resistencia. El 20 de diciembre pasado nos reunimos en el Vrankrijk, un lugar que tanto nos ha dado y que nuevamente nos acogió para celebrar los cinco años de nuestro colectivo. Fue una noche para pasarla chévere, para querernos y, también, para hacer acto de presencia en un mundo que cada vez se torna menos humano. ¡Un mundo que necesita voces disidentes! Six years ago, at @theateraanzee Belgium, on one of the very first tours we did with my work, presenting AGAINST THE WALL. A journalistic performance piece that investigates the ideological conflict of the Cold War, the post-World War II imperialist propaganda deployed by the Western bloc for over 40 years. Where the Congress for Cultural Freedom (CCF) financed by the CIA, secretly sponsored artists such as Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, José Limón, and many others. This piece investigates the relationship between politics, propaganda, and art that the West, the American Dream, and Eurocentric paradigms have worked so hard to conceal. The Congress for Cultural Freedom (CCF) was an anti-communist cultural organization founded in 1950 in West Berlin, which operated for almost 30 years and, at its peak, was active in 35 countries. Neither Art nor Culture have ever been innocent or "apolitical," and history bears witness to this. Thanks to @matsvanherreweghe and @oshin_albrecht for the invitation and brave curation, for daring, from the belly of the beast, to question these imperialist legacies that haunt us today more than ever! ------------- Hace ya 6 años en @theateraanzee Bélgica, presentando AGAINST THE WALL.
