From girls, to curious teenagers, to open-minded young women ⚡︎ ⚡︎ ⚡︎ and then, somewhere along the way, rage.
We hold this rage because we know. Because we’ve lived it. Because we understand exactly where and how society works to limit and harm us.
This room held women who fight every day to be seen, heard, to nurture their communities. There is no more powerful way to end Women’s History Month than an
@unitednations assembly that showed the world how women are breaking barriers DESPITE trauma, abuse, and patriarchal control. ⟡ Just days after the US was the single country to vote “Nay” on a gender equity resolution. ⟡
We heard from a woman building an online school for girls in Afghanistan, where it is illegal for girls and women to learn. We heard from the most decorated track athlete in U.S. history, who spoke on violence against women with disabilities. We heard demands for a free Sudan, a free Congo, a free Palestine. And we witnessed how sexual violence doesn’t have to stop our dreams. We can reach new heights ✿ beyond this world.
Thank you
@risenow.us @amandangocnguyen @spotlightinitiative ♡ for including
@feminist in this room ♡ I leave more empowered than ever to continue documenting our stories and our voices ⋆˚꩜。 not just this month, but always.
Photo 1 ⋆☽⋆ I brought little me in the room, I’m still the girl staying up late at night piecing the puzzle together on how to make the world a better place.
