Gaetano Pesce 1939 - 2024 🕊️
I remember the first time I saw a ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ chair on set as a prop. Struck with a never before felt curiosity; I needed to know everything about Gaetano. Something about the design was so comforting and granted permission, to me and others I’m sure, of free boundless expression in an extremely forward fashion asking for no forgiveness. Fast forward a few years- I find myself in Gaetano’s studio making a film among his chairs, tables, objects, lighting fixtures, molds, materials and the man himself. It meant the world for me to photograph him in the same chair that first let me into his world; the first chair that made me feel something other than the desire to sit. We will never stop learning from the work Gaetano has made. He changed Design, and therefor the world, for the better.
