Almost two years ago, I got a phone call from @jimmyoreilly .
He had a wild idea: leave a very comfortable job to start a bathhouse. At first, I just loved the idea — and I really believed in him. I figured I’d invest, support, cheer from the sidelines.
Then I spent a month pestering him with thoughts on what makes a bathhouse truly great — community, simplicity, ritual, care. Eventually he said, “Why don’t you just do this with me?”
And that’s how Lore was born.
Now, standing on the edge of opening our doors, I’m struck by how special this moment feels. The beauty of creation isn’t just in the finished thing — it’s in the process, the questions, the late nights, the trust, and the becoming.
We’re incredibly lucky to be supported by our incredible partners (Michelle & Katie), who have held us steady and believed deeply along the way, and by the team behind Lore who bring heart, skill, and intention to everything they touch.

There’s a quiet alchemy that happens when we step into nature and into a sauna—where fire, earth, air, and water meet in elemental harmony. The heat of the fire awakens our senses, the grounding of the earth holds us steady, the hot air clears our mind, and the cold plunge of water resets our nervous system. Together, these forces work not just on the body, but on the spirit—shifting our perspective, softening our grip, and opening us to a more present, more alive way of being in the world.
Long overdue, but right on time — I asked Michelle to marry me, and she said yes.
This moment, full of beauty and grace, will live with me forever.

We’re opening this September in Noho—a bathing club built for everyday luxury: dry sauna, infrared, large cold pool, and a phone-free space to just be.

We built a new wood-fired sauna in the forest — just 70 miles from the city, but it feels like another world.

I built this one from scratch, and I feel really good about how it turned out.

Lore is rooted in daily practice — in the power of cold water, deep heat, and something we need more than ever: connection.
Lore is a place to slow down, reset, and remember what it feels like to feel — through intentional, considered recreation.

Fordy was born with tetralogy of fallot, a congenital heart condition that required surgery when he was an infant, so that he could survive and today thrive. Shaun White (the 3x gold medalist snowboarder) was born with the same condition and hearing his story inspired a desire in me to get Fordy into snowboarding. (Children born with tetralogy can have a very limited list of approved sports activities and before knowing what limits Fordy would have, I was able to dream of him and I snowboarding together). This year was the first year that Fordy was able to ride the lift and board down the mountain making perfect turns. I am so proud of his effort, will, patience and strength in picking this up.
In my opinion the best gifts in life come in the form of experiences and talents that we are taught to activate - this year our trip to Breckenridge was an amazing gift for us all, and I am incredibly grateful 🎁
