today = 2 full weeks since leaving la for nyc
before leaving , a disposable camera seemed like the perfect way to capture my final week in la. at the time, i imagined it would be a collection of photos from my point of view, capturing the things i did—as with film, some things didn’t make the cut.
looking back on that week, it doesn’t feel like a capturing of the things i did, but the people i did it with. people that made la my home from college , into adulthood , and beyond. people that remind me that family is also chosen , and we really do get to create our own villages.
these seven days are only a small snapshot of all the people and moments that bid me, “see you later “ , as i journeyed to a place i always dreamed of being, but took some time to get to.

This personal project was never about being ‘perfect’, shooting or editing for continuity, or setting choreography. It was about spending time with my best friend and incredible artist & dancer @kxtwan to tell a story. The more I rewatched footage, the more I realized how much this story symbolizes love, loss, loneliness, and reflection. The feeling of desperately holding onto memories of someone who’s no longer yours. The act of eventually pouring love back into yourself, something I consider sacred. Thank you to everyone for watching.
