Chasing Marlin on fly is surely one of the most ridiculous ways to catch a fish.
Few weeks in Exmouth light tackle and fly fishing with the crew @peak_sportfishing .
Plenty of fish to throw feathers at, Blacks, Stripes and Sailfish all in the mix.
If there’s a location to catch a Grandslam on fly this is surely it.

Well what an amazing 5 days of fly fishing that was!!!
Fished single angler David Tang on 16lb and 20lb IGFA tippet. David had multiple shots each day on Black Marlin, Striped Marlin and Sailfish having hooks in a grand slam for 2 consecutive days.

🎥 Filming. Fishing. Day Of All Days.
Recent South coast filming run for @halcotackle had it all.
After getting smashed by the weather straight up, the last day (as is always the way) made it all worth it.
Epic calm conditions, massive schools, fish feeding right up to the shore line, drone shots, surface bites, all of the good stuff!
Eventually after ticking everything and more off the filming list I ditched the camera and jumped in on the action myself.
At this point I don’t think @bay_to_bluewater could stand to catch another one.
Aimed to get a quick 10 fish to cap it all off and snapped my lure off after the 9th. Content.

First up on the Great Barrier Reef chasing giant Black Marlin with @hardcoregamefishing then back to Exmouth to bait and switch Blue Marlin with the best @peak_sportfishing .
Even managed to sneak out from home and nail a couple of metro Blues with the boys @tommy_miller91 and @samuel.colvin
It’s been a sick few months on the water.

I don’t shoot enough stills so when it’s Blue Marlin season these guys are downgraded to a photo shoot over shooting video. Always trying to capture some of their epic colours!

Chasing Parrots.
In hindsight I don’t think it was a great idea to try and film the fish of 1000 casts (on fly) for our first venture into making a fly film..
At one point I wasn’t even confident we’d catch one at all let alone be able to film it.
But hey, drama, doubt and frustration makes for great viewing.
Amazing (challenging) trip!
