I had a great race, came out of the water with a career best swim in 3rd with @idking90 we worked together on the bike to get rid of an Air Force athlete, came off the bike with Navy in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd! Ran a solid 10k but of course @hookerkyle was too far up the road. Happy to come away with 2nd place 🥈 individually and Navy team taking the overall win! 🥇
Congrats to all the athletes who competed. I really love coming back to this race every year the camaraderie is next level and the talent the military has is top notch.
Today is my last day active duty in the Navy! After 5 years of service I’ve decided to put aside the uniform and chase a different path in life. I will be pursuing a career in triathlon racing professionally, and also coaching endurance athletes for @nvdmcoaching . Coaching is something I always wanted to do and am pretty happy to finally be getting it done! My wife @nataliaa.rementilla and I already packed up and moved home base to Utah where we are closer to family (and the extra added elevation training doesn’t hurt) Thus, the next chapter in life begins 🥂
