As the year comes to a close, we want to thank everyone who has supported Kupfer — through presence, trust, conversation, and belief in what this project stands for. Your engagement has made it possible for Kupfer to exist not just as a space, but as a shared commitment to artistic thinking, care, and exchange.
Looking ahead, we want to share an important shift. From 2026, Kupfer will enter a nomadic phase. Like in painting, when you step back to look at the work from a distance, we will also be taking a sabbatical — a pause to reflect on the future shape and form of the project.
The arts landscape is changing rapidly, bringing both uncertainty and new challenges. We feel it is time to allow Kupfer to move with these changes, and to continue finding ways to respond to them directly, thoughtfully, and responsibly. This pause and movement are part of that process.
Kupfer remains a question in motion — and we are grateful to everyone who has believed in the mission so far. We look forward to re-emerging with new ways of working, gathering, and imagining together, in Kupfer’s spirit of its origin: “what if” instead of “not possible.”
With love,
Kupfer

Tonico Lemos Auad features in 'A Living Confluence', a two-person exhibition with Goia Mujalli at Kupfer Gallery, London.
Bringing together sculpture, textiles, and painting, the exhibition explores the porous boundaries between organic forms, material memory, and imaginative transformation.
Auad’s tactile wooden and textile sculptural works meet Mujalli’s paintings resembling cellular abstractions. Together they create a living ecosystem where wood, thread, pigment, and gesture intertwine. The shared biological intelligence of wood and thread activates the space between the works, inviting new imaginative possibilities and connections.
On view until 31 October. Click the 🔗 link in bio to plan your visit and find out more.

We are delighted to be offering limited edition prints by Tonico Lemos Auad and Goia Mujalli, to support their dual exhibition ‘A Living Confluence’, which runs until 15th November.
Goia Mujalli presents data reef (pic 1), a screenprint on paper, printed by Matt Dennis of First Floor Studios, London. Her print explores forms and cellular patterns present in marine algae. The print has a wonderful, contemporary freshness.
Tonico Lemos Auad presents a single colour screenprint with hand-finished foil and seal layer on linen textile (pic 2). His work was printed by the highly sought-after printer Greta Haga of Torn Editions at First Floor Studios. While the work is a limited edition of 30, each work has unique elements in the colouration of the foil and seal layer. Upon purchase, buyers will be sent images of the different colouration options. Including the motif of a snake, an important symbol of the unique cosmologies of the Amazon region, the print is entitled ‘A Living Confluence’ in homage to the exhibition themes of materiality, connection and cellular intelligence present in natural materials.
Every purchase will directly support this exhibition, and contribute to the continuing programme of exhibitions, residencies and subsidised studios at Kupfer. Links to purchase are in our bio! 👀

Kupfer is proud to present A Living Confluence, a dual exhibition bringing together the works of Tonico Lemos Auad and Goia Mujalli.
Over the course of a month, the gallery will be host to a dialogue between wooden sculpture, textile and painting, exploring the porous boundaries between material transformation, organic forms, and interior worlds.
Tonico Lemos Auad will present a group of floor sculptures together with wall-based wooden pieces. Made with reclaimed wood, his totem-like sculptural works also integrate textile elements (handmade ropes, threads, fragments of fabric) and interventions. The reclaimed wood still bears traces of its prior lives — beams or structural supports from earlier formations — and thus his process is attentive to what already exists in the material, including prior marks and traces. Repair, mending, and the idea of healing play a key role in these works. The interplay between tactile textiles and solid, memory-laden wood generates a quiet intimacy, suggesting ecosystems of material life that are also manifestations of belief.
Goia Mujalli presents a series of paintings that continue her exploration of painterly abstraction and the transformation of existing plant species into speculative, fictional spaces and forms. Working with acrylic, embroidery, fabric and stitching, Goia’s paintings evoke worlds that hover between the microscopic and the panoramic, the familiar and the uncanny.
Both artists will be launching a limited edition print to accompany the exhibition, made uniquely for Kupfer. Editions will go on sale online on 8 October 2025.
