«mu» — a Japanese prefix meaning «nothing» or «without», denotes the absence of something specific.
In Japanese philosophy, it refers to a state of fulfilled emptiness — an ideal condition of the mind. In architecture, it describes the tangible and meaningful emptiness found in the spaces and environments around us.
