For @das_magazin , I photographed a photo essay about permafrost and the people studying its changes.
Meeting Beat Frey, he researches bacteria and viruses released from melting ice. Robert Kenner studies how the Alps are changing. Both are looking at landscapes that are shifting faster than we understand. We are the first species changing the Earth’s atmosphere and in doing so, we are opening vaults that have remained sealed for thousands of years. As the frozen ground disappears, entire wetlands begin to form. Ancient microbes become active again, releasing enormous amounts of CO₂ and methane, while thawing soils and minerals can even turn rivers orange.
An incredibly sad, yet important subject. One that deeply moved me while photographing it. thanks @maria.leutner and @frauke.schnoor for the commission

A little late to the flashback party, but I look back on 2025 with gratitude.
Thank you to everyone I've worked with, it has meant a lot to me.

It was my first time working in this direction and environment, with the aim of finding out how I would feel about it. I wanted to explore new territory.
Thanks to the team who agreed to take part in this small experiment in the cold and rain.

False memories – therapists, backed by dubious victim advocates, implant false memories of abuse and violence in their patients. Frank is a forensic psychiatrist specializing in sexual and violent offenses. He has often witnessed how false accusations completely destroy the lives of patients and their families. A sensitive subject for which I searched for symbolic images. Now in the current issue of Zeit Verbrechen.
