I had the pleasure of photographing @marcoroboto , the BIG BRAIN behind @mixmachineanalog and the only full analog recording studio here in the Philippines. Marco is one of the people who inspires me because of what he does. I believe that to truly get better at something you love, you have to be obsessed with it and I see that in him. He actually makes ideas come to life. Not everyone has that kind of drive, and honestly, it’s amazing to witness. He’s not all talk. I remember having a conversation with him where he told me he’s not doing this full analog thing because he can’t move on from the past. He’s doing it because he believes there will come a time when we return to this process because analog is still better. Ofcourse, I believe him. Vinyl is making a comeback, and more people are exploring film photography too. There’s just something about analog that gives a warm, alive feeling whether you’re making or listening to music, or creating or viewing photographs. It’s hard to explain, but it’s like food, home-cooked meals just hit different than fast food. It gives you a sense of being alive. Thank you, Marco, for letting me make these photos for you! Few months ago, Luna of @lunaandluciacrafts showed us how she recycles old magazines, newspapers, and other paper that others might see as trash, turning them into usable paper again. At such a young age, she already understands what sustainability is all about. I hope more kids get inspired to do things like this instead of spending all their time in front of screens. I never planned to make photos of people riding their bicycles/motorcycles but these people always get in the way whenever I find a scene that interests me (it’s japan so yes they are everywhere!). Now when I imagine them not in the frame I realized they are the reason I find those scenes interesting. But anyway, I love how these photos came out and I’m excited to print some of em! 🎌🤘🏽🚴🏼🛵
