Just finished another rock production in the studio. Our 4 mic drum technique always satisfies. We’ve been using this method for 2 years now and it always gives us the best open drum sound in our studio. So many things to unpack with our trip in Taiwan. The extremely diverse music culture, the appreciation for physical music media, the push for independent (non major label) artists…bold moves for a music community who want different experiences and special moments. In this modern world of digital algorithm driven music that serve the corporate streaming lords and major labels, Taiwan’s music scene is in the right direction taking that leap into developing real expriences and music that you can truly own. We didn’t just cut vinyl records in Taiwan…we solidified relationships and proved a massive point. As John Huang of NPCC and Record Store Day Taiwan puts it: We brought back the romance in music. That alone gives justice to what we do in our analog practice. So…we’re going back there very soon for something bigger that cuts deeper. Stay tuned.
