🎨About her Practice: Kim Largey uses the tradition of floral still life painting as a point of departure to investigate the space between chaos and control. Each painting begins with a fluorescent pink under-layer, from which successive forms emerge through the application, wiping, and blurring of acrylic paint. Working from both observed flowers and imagined forms, Largey allows shapes to surface, recede, and reassert themselves in a cyclical process that reflects an ongoing tension between intention and chance.
