🌿Saturday June 21st 🌿 @dance4plantsliverpool and @kosmojazz are joining forces to bring you a VERY special summer solstice gathering next month at @metrocolabarliverpool ! 🌞 Picture this: it's the longest day of the year, you're bathed in sunlight, cool drink in hand and dancing with your friends to music from around the world. 💃🎶 Our party consists of a ✨free✨ day event and a ✨ticketed✨ night event: First, from 2pm you can join us for an easy breezy day party! DFP residents Scott, Sam and Jack will be taking over the sun-drenched upstairs glass room. Joining them will Liverpool-based groove merchants @komani.groove.collective for an all-day all-sunshine knees-up! Alongside this will be a pop up craft market selling arty bits, plants and records (courtesy of @deadairvinyl ) 🌿 Then, after sunset, things get serious... As part of next Saturday’s Sun Power Disco ☀️, we’ll be joined by Jess and Marc of @deadairvinyl - who’ll be hosting a vinyl pop-up throughout the day with a ton of affordable second-hand discs, and a specially curated selection of new releases! Expect everything from indie, jazz, Afro, hip-hop, house, metal, and some rarer sounds and more hidden gems 🤘🏻 Despite only opening shop in summer 2023, Dead Air’s space down on Suffolk Street has already become a true community hub for music lovers in the Ropewalks area and beyond! Infamous for it’s laid-back charm, no pretension approach, and welcoming atmosphere, as well as Jess and Marc’s infectious music chatter and knowledgeability. Our Solstice party at @metrocolabarliverpool is going to have a craft market! 🌴 We'll be joined by some of the best, brightest, plantiest stalls Liverpool has to offer, and we'll be telling you all about the over the next week or so. First up are three plant-related stalls: 1 - @intonature_hello - Sarah will be selling her fantastic Japanese Kokedama plants! Made from moss, compost and twine, these beautiful plants are completely plastic free, and made with eco-consciousness at the heart. These cute little plants will look wonderful anywhere, be sure to nab one! 🌱 2 - @urban_grow_liverpool - you may remember these guys from Sam's @svararadio show, where they played Japanese metal and Eurovision bangers. A South Liverpool based CIC, they'll be selling vegetable plants to fundraise for their site in Wavertree, so they can host workshops to help people learn to grow their own veg. Come down and get yaself a tomato plant for a good cause 🍅 3 - @econsider - Nicole believes in making natural self-care accessible, gentle, and sustainable. She hand crafts small batches of self care products in her studio, including soaps, creams, mists and candles, using natural ingredients. Casually gaining the attention and support of peers such as Gilles Peterson, Tina Edwards, Crazy P and Mr Scruff. With a penchant for vinyl, Léna’s eclectic sets span a myriad of genres, ranging from Afrobeat, Zouk, Jazz to Funk, Disco, Psychedelic and beyond, seamlessly blending vintage and modern sounds. The exploration of the rich tapestry of global sounds is also what nurtures Léna’s own compositions as exemplified in her debut EP ‘Promenade’ Léna has made appearances on My Analog Journal, Worldwide FM, NTS, SOHO Radio, Radio Al Hara and played at some of the world's most well-respected venues and festivals: Jazz Cafe, We Out Here, Golden Lion, Gottwood, JaZZx, Worldwide Festival.
