The Korttelit art event can be experienced in the Torikorttelit area in central Helsinki until Epiphany, 7 January 2026. All the sites of this contemporary art event, which spreads across the area’s windows, balconies, and selected outdoor spaces. Exhibition can be visited around the clock. 🌜
You can explore the exhibition’s artists and the area map at www.torikorttelit.fi/korttelit-nayttely and visit the whole installation during December at a time that suits you best. The Korttelit exhibition brings an interesting and diverse selection of art into public space, highlighting the historically significant Torikorttelit area and presenting it in a new light through contemporary art. 🎭

Korttelit is a new event taking place in the Torikorttelit area of Helsinki. Debuting this year, the event brings a curated selection of contemporary art by selected artists into the heart of the city, spreading across selected windows, outdoor spaces, and other unique sites throughout the Torikorttelit district. The exhibition is on display 24/7. The works on view reflect the artists’ recent and ongoing artistic directions.

Korttelit-näyttely on nyt virallisesti purettu, ja haluamme kiittää sydämemme pohjasta kaikkia osallisia.
Ensiksi kiitämme toimijoita, jotka tarjosivat tilansa näyttelyä varten. Uniikit sijainnit loivat kokonaisuudelle kiinnostavan rytmin ja näyttävät olosuhteet.
Toiseksi haluamme kiittää kaikkia mukana olleita 22 taiteilijaa, jotka toteuttivat teoksensa osaksi nykytaiteen kokonaisuutta, joka herätti ihastusta, kummastusta ja lukematton määrän oivalluksia.

The Korttelit exhibition has now officially come to an end, and we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. First, we thank all the venues and partners who offered their spaces for the exhibition – the unique locations created a compelling rhythm and striking conditions for the overall experience.
Secondly, we would like to thank all 22 participating artists who realised their works as part of a contemporary art exhibition that sparked admiration, curiosity, and countless moments of insight.
Finally, we would of course like to thank the visitors who set out to explore an exhibition spread across outdoor spaces in Helsinki’s Arctic conditions.
Our thanks also go to all collaborators, media partners, producers, technical team, graphic designers and photographers – to everyone who made the creation, construction, existence, and eventual dismantling of Korttelit exhibition.

Eeva Juuti’s works explore the meaning of the present. She treats materials, objects and images as temporal artefacts and carriers of both natural and human energy.
The works Saxophone, knight, parallel and The light, house, more-than-human explore public art. They utilise the ‘universal’ basic features of art – light and colour – and draw on the installation art of the 21st century.

Nayab Noor Ikram (b. 1992) is a visual artist and photographer of the Pakistani diaspora in the Åland Islands who is based in Finland. Ikram uses moving images, photography, performances and installations in her artistic works, exploring intermediate spaces, cultural identity and concepts of memory through rituals and symbolism.
Her works have been exhibited in Finland and abroad in contexts such as Art Week Tokyo, the Finnish Pavilion at the Gwangju Biennale, Mänttä Art Festival in 2021 and the European Parliament in 2020. Her works can also be found in the public and private collections of the City of Helsinki, which are managed by HAM and the Åland Islands Art Museum.
Distortion began with the discovery of family albums and photographic portraits donated to Emmaus Åland, the local second-hand store in Mariehamn on the Åland Islands.
Using the digital technique of pixel sorting, these portraits are fragmented and reshaped, revealing abstract patterns that evoke the imaginary inner landscapes of their forgotten subjects.
The work reflects on memory, loss, and the transformation of identity as personal histories fade into anonymity, leaving only traces of what once was.
