The beautiful @aorus.na@gigabyte_official x870e AERO X3D Wood motherboard and 5080 AERO Windforce GPU is the heart of the build powered by @amd 9950x3d with cooling by @alphacool_int@alphacoolfr and their Apex 1 and Core waterblocks. Real wood veneer, lots of mods to the case and a dual loop with some crazy tube routing to get the colors exactly where I wanted to be. The GPU was moved to the back to show off the gorgeous motherboard.

This custom Magnus II build is all about clean lines, serious cooling, and uncompromising performance. From the sleek chassis design to the high-airflow setup, every detail is dialed in for peak performance and pure aesthetic.

It’s complete ! Some changes could still be made, but for now here is my @kompcase Magnus II build.
Configuration details :
- Intel Core i9 13900ks
- Asus Rog z790 Hero BTF
- Corsair 2x16 7200c34 with custom heatsinks
- FSP Mega GM 1000w
- KFA2 Rtx 4080 super SG
Watercooling with Thermal Grizzly fittings, Corsair Xr5 rads and some fittings, as well as the cpu waterblock. Heatkiller reservoir + pump, and of course the Alphacool ram waterblock.
When engineering meets art.
This custom loop Nexus build pushes the boundaries of open-frame performance. Paired with our prototype external radiator stand called “Ally” this setup transforms cooling into statement.
By using an external radiator, airflow becomes unrestricted, heat dissipation improves dramatically, and the loop can operate at peak efficiency even under heavy workloads. The result? Lower temperatures, quieter operation, and headroom for uncompromising performance.
Ally isn’t just a stand, it’s the perfect partner for high-performance custom loops, giving your cooling system that extra push. The stand is still in development, and we’re refining every detail but we’re excited to say that it won’t be long before we’re ready to offer it to the public.
Last week’s live build on @overclocking_com was a celebration of collaborations and releases !
On the well-known Kompcase Nexus, we installed MAXSUN Ms-iCraft X870M, now available in Europe thanks to @alternatenl and @hybridcoolingmodding . We paired it with Ryzen 7 9800X3D and some Corsair Dominator DDR5 (with copper fins).
CPU and GPU are waterblocked by @alphacool_int with an incredible custom design on the GPU made by @rgbplates
Alphacool XT45 480 mm radiator stands proudly on Kompcase Ally prototype! Kompcase’s first external stand. It can accommodate both 120 and 140 mm dimensions, comes with universal pump bracket and… a handle ! (So convenient)
Last but definitely not least, Seasonic powers the build with its mighty Prime GX-1300 and… it cools it too ! Seasonic Magflow are wonderful daisy-chainables fans that you shouldn’t sleep on.
We’re excited to let you know that our Magnus II chassis is officially back in stock and it’s better than ever.
Based on the feedback and requests we’ve received from many of you, we’ve released a revised version of the Magnus II with several important upgrades:
- Back connector motherboard compatibility
- Continued support for standard motherboards (no changes here - your existing compatibility remains the same)
- Enhanced GPU mounting options. In addition to the vertical GPU support, the revised version now includes a horizontal GPU mounting bracket as well.
- Test Bench transformation is now available by removing the feet and top cover and using the horizontal GPU bracket.
We truly listen to our customers, and these improvements were directly inspired by the strong demand and valuable input you’ve shared with us over time. Your feedback helps us refine our products and continue delivering solutions that meet real-world needs.
