I’m still thinking about the decals but I really like this paint finish: it turns transparent on the head tube, revealing the steel beneath, the file marks, and the brass fillet brazing. For me, telling authentic stories of people who truly live the bicycle is one of the most beautiful parts of this journey. Not athletes chasing performance, but individuals who ride because the bike is part of their everyday life, their freedom, and their way of seeing the world. Today I’m happy to share a conversation with Morend, a young cyclist and blogger from the beautiful Indonesia. Like me, she enjoys documenting her rides and the simple beauty of moving through the world at a slower pace. 📸✨The Serotta by Marlon After admiring it from a distance for a while, finally being able to get on it and ride was a real moment. The setup with the Stridsland fork gives the bike a really good steering feel, super controlled and surprisingly smooth. The handlebar position is also extremely comfortable, making the whole ride feel natural and relaxed. 🌇✨🚲 London hit different this weekend. Pulled up to @bespoked and damn… pure energy. So many insanely talented frame builders under one roof, people I’d been following for years, finally met face to face. No screens, just real hands, real stories, real passion. But what’s gonna stick with me the most? That feeling of community. You could feel it in the air. No ego, just love for bikes, craft, and the culture. And then… riding through London streets with Marlon from Babyldn and the whole crew on one of their sick builds... man, that was something else. One of those moments you wish you could freeze. Steel, friends… heart full. In this post I’m dropping only two Apocalypse builds from Bespoked. We had the great honor of putting together a pre- @bespoked.cc group ride on Friday with special guest Emanuele, co-founder of @kory.york and the man behind @save.the.rat.bike and @kolecycles - I’ve chatted in length about my top inspirations when it comes to bike builds and Save The Rat Bike is up there for sure. Ema and his friend Stefano dropped in on Thursday actually, straight from the plane and we hang out for hours, talking about the type of nerdy things I only spoke to myself about..like the girth of the stem needing to be slimmer or at the best equal to the frames tubing, symmetry and balance when it comes to components etc etc..I felt in cahoots with a ledge, and we spoke the same language (literally and figuratively). We bonded. Truly. And I can honestly say we’ve got a new friend, not only a social media buddy now. Can’t wait to finally collab on something concrete knowing we’re “level” (as we used to say when I was stoned and 16 years old). Who else was there? @christinegei.ger with her Kory York tracklocross monster, as the ethereal script intended..everyone’s favorite two wheel superhero @robinditchburn with his bespoke @scolarian_bikes (which took 3rd place for best single speed at @bespoked.cc ) The @stayercycles crew led by a certain someone called Craig Lambard (our spirit animal ), Papa Tony, @xpineapplesupply , @jjjjjjjakob , @samridebike , @motf.cycles from @handsfeetarmslegs , @actualbikes and Bob (better known as @book__of__rat camera shy because he thinks the authorities are still after running a red light in 1992) • After a little meet and greet, merch swap and customary pic fest we commenced our very epic ride which took 5min up mount denmark hill to a weatherspoons for a pint and then back down direction Peckam for Bespoked. Whats more illuminating than a sit down at the cheapest booze joint in the land if you wanna soak in British culture? Thought so. • Lovely chats, lovely hang out!
