Announcing
'Portable Stillness' by Ko Jou Chen at First Site Gallery.
'Portable Stillness' is an ongoing spatial installation where physical expressions of memory speak to the unstable and peripatetic nature of diasporic living. Motivated by the artist's own lived experience and personal collection of sentimental keepsakes, miniature handcrafted jewels and soldered objects are arranged on floating altar-like displays that speak not to preservation, but the transitory state of impermanence.
On exhibition from Tuesday 19 May — Friday 12 June
11am — 5pm, Tuesday — Friday
Please join us to celebrate the opening of this exhibition at First Site Gallery, 5—7pm, Wednesday 20 May.

Very honoured to be selected for this year’s @craftvictoria Fresh! exhibition and to receive one of the Future Leaders Awards from Dr. Helen Sykes AM. Big thanks to the wonderful staff team at Craft for putting the event together, and the selection panel for choosing my work. Also, a big thank you to my teachers at Melbourne Poly for their guidance and to my peers for their support.
