Today was a bittersweet day for the @buffalostate Communication Department as Professor @knowleme attended her last faculty meeting prior to retirement on Sept. 1! An accomplished and award-winning filmmaker, Meg joined our Media Production faculty in fall 2006 and has led important curriculum revisions to modernize the Media Production major. She has mentored hundreds of students and is always there to lend them a helping hand. A co-founder of Buffalo State’s “Beyond Boundaries” film series, Meg serves as secretary at Buffalo’s @squeakybuffalo and on many committees at Buffalo State. Meg: thanks for your outstanding service to our students, department, and Buffalo State - we will miss you! Best wishes for many happy years in retirement!

The @buffalostate Beyond Boundaries film series opened its 2025-26 season last night with a powerful new film, “Deaf President Now!” (Nyle DiMarco and David Guggenheim). The film, about a 1988 protest at the world’s only deaf university, Gallaudet, was followed by a panel discussion featuring local deaf education colleagues, some of whom were students at Gallaudet during the protests. Kudos to @buffalostatecommunicationdept Media Production professors Ruth Goldman and @knowleme as co-curators of this excellent film series!
