Fuck the show promo. A set is always more than a set, music like many other things, is political. Everything is. One of the most evil corporations in the world, KKR, has sunk its oily fingers into Boiler Room among many other sought out stages in its acquisition of Superstruct in January this year. Playing a set for these people; giving them your artistic capital helps them fund horrible lethal ventures, notably the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people in Palestine, Indigenous displacement in Canada and other investments to turn the cogs of the global war machine. So don’t give them that set, or that ticket purchase. That TikTok moment or that “key set for your DJ career” just simply isn’t worth it, off of the death and pain of others. H34VEN0N34RTH and ADELAIDE BALLROOM will no longer be a part of Adelaide Festival’s Tryp II event on the 27th of February. In dropping Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah, in fears that it would “not be culturally sensitive to continue to program her at this unprecedented time so soon after Bondi” the board has continued to conflate anti-Zionism with anti-semetism, and extended that to outright racism against those of Arab descent by weaponising outrage to fuel further discrimination. The misguided actions taken by the board have shocked us, and this sentiment has been expressed nationwide as other writers and performers have followed in pulling out from the festival  in solidarity. As a result, this performance no longer aligns with what we believe in. As such we are pulling out of the festival and standing along with those that we are currently aware of their voiced positions to withdraw from Adelaide Festival. As of writing this, those artists are: DJ Haram, Jannah Quill, House of Vnholy, Romi, Skorpion King and Mr John. To Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah: we apologise for this mistreatment. We can’t imagine the pain involved in this association and the consequences thereof, but know that we will always have your back. Your brilliance as a writer and speaker will be painfully missed here, as your thoughts are needed more than ever. We will not remain passive: we will never abate the fight against political tyranny, against the silencing of you, or any other individual speaking to power. KNOW.CLU | HARD DRUM | IDM | DARK LEFTFIELD @know.clu is a Naarm-born, Kaurna-based producer, DJ, and father of the underground queer electronic collective @h34ven0n34rth_ . With a late start into the clubbing scene after a “contractually obligated” interstate move, know.clu found his wings and a home for his musicality that he could otherwise not platform. His selections are typically rooted in non-4x4 music, focusing on hard drum, UK funky, IDM, and dark leftfield, while paying homage to his mixed Indian heritage through percussive, hip-gyrational rhythms sourced from around the globe. As his resume has grown with each H34VEN0N34RTH gig, he’s played alongside Jensen Interceptor, DJ G2G, Safety Trance, Bored Lord, Ninajirachi, Umru, and his “goat” Strict Face, while also touring personally with OJC, BCLIP, Onhell, Anna Morgan, and NET GALA.
