“This book is an epic unmasking... Exhumations dissects Singapore’s architecture—an architecture of concrete and land, but also of technology, unnatural horticulture, and narrative control. In doing so, it rivals any of Singapore’s staggering creations.” —Thea Lim, author of An Ocean of Minutes In Joanne Leow’s searing new book, EXHUMATIONS, research, theory, literature and memory bring the fallout of Singapore’s rapid expansion into sharp focus. This illuminating book is a must-read for 2026.

“Terrific: witty, ironic, unnerving, stylish, and funny, very funny. The best first collection of stories I’ve read in years.” —André Alexis, author of Fifteen Dogs Join us today in celebrating the arrival of a prodigious new talent. In her dazzling debut, Jess Gibson takes the reader on an unforgettable journey. In Gibson’s world, the beautiful turns grotesque, the exalted becomes the disgraced, the genius an imposter. “John of John is gorgeous—the most satisfying novel I’ve read in a long time. The Western Isles of Scotland may be isolated, yet I could see, smell, hear, and touch these memorable characters, and get caught up in their world. Stuart’s tale is soulful, tragic, comic, uplifting, and ultimately so very satisfying. Destined to be a classic.” —Abraham Verghese, author of The Covenant of Water and Cutting for Stone We’re a little more than a week away from the publication of John of John by Booker Prize-winner Douglas Stuart. What an unforgettable night with Caro Claire Burke @caroclaireburke where Yesteryear had us spiralling (in the best way) about tradwives, womanhood, and the lives we curate online. 🤳 Blending sharp insight with addictive storytelling, the conversation had us hooked. It’s no surprise that even Anne Hathaway was all in before the book even dropped 👀 Hosted by Paula Turcotte @p.turc , the night featured a lively Q&A (complete with very creative sourdough starter names 🥖 @sidewalkcitizen ), a beautiful stage arrangement from @peaseblossomsflowers , and a post-show signing with @shelflifebooks @penguinrandomca Curiosity, bold storytelling, and a crowd that fully leaned in—this was one for the timeline(s)
