I’ve watched you navigate the challenges of medical school into residency and now as an attending… and it’s never been an easy journey. And even now, I know it still isn’t. For the longest time, I questioned why you chose such a difficult career path, because it hurt seeing someone I love go through what you’ve experienced. But even from the sleepless 24+ hour shifts to responding to patients on MyChart on your days off… it’s your compassion and love for what you do that shines through the most.
I’ll never forget when you first told me you wanted to run the NYC Marathon. Year after year, through every lottery rejection, you told me that it was a goal of yours to run it one day. And as a doctor with limited time to train, you put others first… even when it meant putting that dream on hold.
But this year… you finally get your moment. You’re running the NEW YORK CITY MARATHON. 🥹 Congratulations!!! I couldn’t be more proud of you, Rebecca. Thank you to @knockaround for making this moment even more special. It couldn’t have been possible without them!!!
