KNOCKsoftly presents… Sense & N0nS3nsE In today’s world, much of what is important is inaccessible – locked in institutional vaults, buried in jargon, or drowned out by noise. So how do we think clearly when existing feels fast and loud, hidden and fragmented? How do we tell what’s real, what really matters? Sense & N0nS3nsE is about the ways we use art and music to understand ourselves and the world around us. We are interested in how art transmits ideas – complex, systemic, emotional, or lived – in ways that engage the physical senses. This isn’t just art for art’s sake. This is communication, education, and resistance.

CURATOR. @tiny_lill Lilliana’s work for Sense & NOns3nsE brings artists together under a shared vision. With a deep interest in philosophy, community, and art history, she approaches art as a way of life. She seeks to reconcile the abstract with the specific, the known with the unknown. For her first show she has created a collection of upcycled clothing and has a keen interest in reimagining existing materials to create new meaning. Art by @freej.freej.freej

His project reminds us of the powerful creative undercurrent running through our community. Local Love is all about shining light on the inspiring events the art and music scene has to offer. Roberto’s work shows us the power of quantity and limitation. Tight deadlines, found objects, and nostalgic originality produced an impressive body of work. Big Shirt’s Local Love became our go to guide, and we were so sad to see it go! LIVE MUSIC ANNOUNCEMENT: @bcharre.music Embroidered with the richness of the art and poetry of his family’s village, Bcharre’s immersive, transportative music draws deeply from his Middle Eastern roots, language and culture. With the dynamic rhythms and cinematic textures of his Berlin-techno meets cinematic sound, it’s easy to get lost in the stories of Bcharre’s music. Based in Brisbane (Meanjin) Australia, Bcharre is ready to explode his driving electronic sound to a full band after playing to packed crowds at Splendour in the Grass (2019) and Falls Festival (2019, 2020). ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT: @tahliaeve The current focus of Tahlia’s studio investigations is how jokes and the absurd can be communicated through painting. With a messy and spontaneous approach with materials, she uses charcoal, acrylic, and oil pastel on canvas. A through-line in her practice is how to visually represent something that doesn’t exist and she likes to begin artworks with this problem. Artist portrait by @michaela_eden
