Welcome to the openings of two exhibitions on Saturday at 17. One of them is Flat Earth Round Tables, by artist duo Paul Lipp and Reto Leuthold.
Lipp & Leuthold is an artist duo consisting of Reto Leuthold and Paul Lipp. Both artists studied at HGK Lucerne and have worked as freelance artists since the mid-2000s. Their creative work focuses on a collaborative process where painting and sculpture merge into a single whole. In their works, differing tendencies meet where the personal collides with the chaos of the political of everyday life–as well as with each other–in an unpredictable interplay.
—
For artists Lipp and Leuthold, a painting is never just a finished object hanging on a wall; it is the living aftermath of a conversation. Working together, they treat the canvas as an open system where two people negotiate, react, and build something that neither could have created alone.
Their process begins in the noise of everyday life. They gather “scraps” of overheard conversations, fleeting observations, and fragments from their daily newsfeeds. One artist might start with a sketchy visual idea—a claim on the canvas—only for the other to immediately pick it up, spin it in a new direction, or paint over it entirely. This back-and-forth continues until the dialogue transforms into a unified painterly statement. It is a process of giving and taking, where the painting isn’t a pre-planned image, but a moment representing the collaborative process, the struggle, that lead up to it.

Tvær sýningar opna í Kling & Bang laugardaginn 18. apríl kl.17.00. Önnur þeirra er Vindauga, einkasýning Söru Bjargar Bjarnardóttur. @sassy_squatchy

Welcome to the openings of two exhibitions on Saturday at 17. One of them is Wind Eye, solo exhibition by Sara Björg Bjarnadóttir.
In Wind Eye at Kling & Bang, Sara Björg works with air, light and sound as primary materials, shaping them into conditions that are not only seen but felt. The exhibition moves through a series of windows, engaging elemental forces that pass through them. The works then unfold through the dynamics of outward expansions and inward pulls, and these opposing forces create a shifting experience of expansion and contraction where the visitor’s body is constantly adjusting.
Sara Björg received a BA degree from the Iceland University of the Arts in 2015. She pursued MFA studies at the same institution, and participated in an exchange semester at the Royal Danish Academy. She has exhibited in Iceland and internationally, including at the Akureyri Art Museum, Ásmundarsalur, and Wild Horses in Copenhagen, as well as exhibitions in Germany, Lithuania, and Romania. She was nominated for the Motivational Award at the Icelandic Art Prize in 2024 and is a member of Laumulistasamsteypan.

Verið hjartanlega velkomin á opnun sýningar listamannanna Gauthier Hubert og Guðnýjar Rósu Ingimarsdóttur tvírit (the danger zone of sharing) í dag kl. 17 í Kling & Bang.
Eins og venjulega í samstarfi þeirra Gauthier og Guðnýjar Rósu er uppsetning sýningarinnar einföld og unnin í þögn, jafnvel án þess að aukatekið orð sé sagt, samkvæmt því óskráða verklagi sem þau hafa margoft fylgt og felur í sér endurteknar og nánast ósjálfráðar hreyfingar sem þau kunna orðið utanbókar og kenna má við innsæi.

We warmly welcome you to the opening of our upcoming show, tvírit(the danger zone of sharing) by the artists Gauthier Hubert and Guðný Rósa Ingimarsdóttir today at 5pm.
As is customary in the collaboration between Gauthier and Guðný Rósa, the installation of the exhibition is simple and done in silence, even without a single word being spoken, according to the unwritten procedure that they have often followed and involves repetitive and almost involuntary movements that they know by heart and can be attributed to intuition.
Útför Guðmundar Odds Magnússonar verður gerð mánudaginn 9. febrúar kl. 13:00 frá Fríkirkjunni í Reykjavík. Athöfninni verður einnig streymt í Listasafni Íslands á Fríkirkjuvegi, Skaftfell bistro á Seyðisfirði og Kling & Bang, þar sem erfi verður drukkið í kjölfarið.
Allir vinir og vandamenn Godds eru velkomnir.
