In our intermediate and advanced classes, we push students to draw sub-second as a form of performance on demand, not for bragging rights but because action is always faster than reaction.
Law enforcement and security professionals don’t get to set the pace. They are reacting to someone else’s decision, which means they are already behind the power curve. That’s precisely why we train to “drag race” to the gun.
However, speed without context is useless. You’re not landing sub-second hits at 100 yards, and you won’t at 3 yards if your target is a .5”x.5” square. Speed is dictated by distance and target size. Know the difference and train accordingly.
Had an amazing time training @ghostringtactical a couple weeks ago. Highly suggest you check them out if you haven’t yet. Instructors are great, and the camp vibe creates an amazing atmosphere. Thanks to @tell_lowrance for making me look good.
Finished off my morning at the range with the 5 On It Drill from @amy.556 Squeezed out an Expert pass on my 2nd attempt even though my reload wasn’t the smoothest. Had to be the extra speed I got from my new @modern_samurai_project shirt.
Finished out my range trip with a few reload drills. Had a rough time with the new Staccato XC but only had about 30 rounds through it by this point. Gonna put in some work to get that sub 4 #amy556 drill.
Had an awesome opportunity at Pistol 2 training with Paul and the Warrior Poet Society gang. Learned a lot and took a lot home to work on. Highly recommend. #warriorpoetsociety
