OAKLAND — we’re bringing Natural Technology to @twotwo.online Join us alongside @laviena.echev at @twotwo.online May 22-24 for a multi-sensory installation to celebrate our latest collection, Natural Technology. Natural Technology is a collection built on contradiction. Organic fibers and recycled nylon. Soft palettes against metal hardware. Primitive silhouettes in synthetic form. It’s the juxtaposition of past and future, natural and artificial; an abstract tension that can’t be defined, only felt. In collaboration with Creative duo, Laviena & Echev, we returned to the Portola Redwoods State Park, the lush Bay Area ecosystem that first inspired the collection, to document the garments within their source. Artists Alexey Seliverstov and Tata Vislevskaya moved through the forest dressed in the collection, field recording the intimate textures of old growth: canopy, water, wildlife, and atmosphere. Those recordings were reinterpreted by Groundislava, who composed an original score with the sounds of Portola, bottling up a place, a feeling, and a collection into a single space. Join us for the opening night on Friday 5/22, 6pm-9pm to experience the collection in a new format with an experiential installation, field recordings by @grayskiesforever , an original score by @groundislava , and wine + trail bites by @mesomoderno Two Two 3221 Grand Ave Oakland, CA 94610 Shop the collection & view the installation all weekend long

Inspired by Earth We dreamt up our SS26 collection, Natural Technology, during a camp trip in the Portola Redwoods early last year. Inspired by the idea of a lush Redwood forest being in such close proximity to a city, we were inspired by the concept of how Nature can coexist with what is man-made. Natural technology embraces both what’s organic and artificial; the past and the future. The collection mixes organic fibers with recycled nylons, soft palettes with metal hardware, and organic shapes with contrasting colors. It’s the juxtaposition of soft and hard; natural and artificial. To celebrate the launch of Natural Technology, we returned to the Portola Redwoods State Park alongside Creative Duo, @laviena.echev to document the garments within the lush ecosystem that first inspired the collection. We documented the acclaimed field recorder, @grayskiesforever , alongside artist, @awomanundertheinfluence as they moved through the forest dressed in the collection, field recording the intimate textures of old growth: canopy, water, wildlife, and atmosphere. Those recordings were then reinterpreted by @groundislava , who composed an original score with the sounds of Portola - bottling up a place, a feeling, and a collection into a single space. We present this creative project as multi-sensory installation that is currently on display at our Chinatown Store in Los Angeles through next month. Stop by to experience the installation - listen to the sounds of the Redwoods and be transported into our world of Natural Technology. Wednesday - Sunday 12p - 6p 990 North Hill Street Los Angeles, CA 90012 The installation coming to you - We are working to bring this installation to cities across the US. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when the installation is in your city. Can’t see the installation in person? You can purchase a copy of the Natural Technology zine to get a piece of the experience. Each zine includes a CD with Alexey Seliverstov’s original field recordings and an original song by Groundislava using the sounds of the Portola.

Our installation for KkCo’s new collection - Natural Technology 🌀💛 + some bts This project was the manifestation of us recently craving more physical media and tactile play, we wanted to be able to take people inside the campaign images and to stimulate every sense. Inspired by Kara’s idea of ‘plugging’ headphones into a rock from our last shoot, we decided to bring it to life and build a world around it. @gilescarson helped us carve out real rocks to be able to play sounds directly from inside them, seamlessly blending nature & technology. @grayskiesforever created field recordings the same day of our shoot at Portola, these play through the rocks in the installation. Afterwards, @groundislava created an original score for us, integrating Alexey’s field recordings and his signature sound. All of the vacuum sealed flora in the books was collected by Kara and I from the forest floor while shooting. The zines are the digital version of the installation, blending the images and sound with a CD that has @groundislava original track and Alexey’s recordings. Each one was hand bound and vacuum sealed by us, limited edition of 50. So endlessly thankful to @karajubin for letting us run wild with this idea, and thank you to @grayskiesforever @awomanundertheinfluence , @groundislava and @gilescarson for being incredible collaborators. The installation will be at the store through the end of April, and zines are available on KkCo’s website tomorrow.
