Kitty Casey is a British and Irish soprano, currently studying at The Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Elizabeth Ritchie, with the generous support of the Countess of Munster, Gilbert and a Sullivan Society and Help Musician’s Sybil Tutton Opera Award. Kitty spent the start of 2025 at Glyndbourne understudying the principal role of ‘Lola’ in ‘Uprising’, written by Jonathan Dove . Later that year she sang as a young artist at Buxton Opera house for their summer festival. Whilst studying her undergraduate at Royal Holloway, University of London, Kitty was awarded the 2022 Dame Felicity Lott scholarship for excellence in performance. She is also the 2024 winner of the Dame Felicity Lott recital prize, as part of the Springboard Festival. She thoroughly looks forward to singing with The Opera Collective and debuting the role of Despina.
So excited to be performing as Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte alongside so many lovely people from RNCM!

What a week!! ✨ I’m so excited to share that I’ve made it through to the second round of the Williams Howard Prize at RNCM, happening on 2nd March 🤍 On top of that, I had a super busy and inspiring week taking part in opera scenes with the lovely @sarahsmezzo and @gabrielletiffanyyy , where we performed a scene from Il Burbero di Buon Cuore by Martin Y Soler and I had the joy of singing Angelica 🎭 I also took part in the David Clover Festival and made it through to the finals! Feeling very excited for what’s ahead ✨🎶
Still buzzing from an unforgettable evening singing at the breathtaking Pevensey Castle yesterday! 🏰🎶
My sister and I had the joy of performing a programme of sister duets and solo pieces, with the amazing Will Hancox not only accompanying us so beautifully, but also compering the evening with such warmth and charm. 💫
It was such a privilege to sing in a setting as stunning and historic as this @englishheritage site. Throughout the evening, audiences moved between different concerts around the castle grounds — including enchanting medieval and Renaissance music from the brilliant Ensemble Faronel, and gorgeous cello playing by the incredible Rachel Firmager. 🎻✨

A few days ago I had an exciting time at the opening night of @buxtonfestival ‘Shorts’. I jumped in last minute to cover the role of ‘C’ in Inevitable 💫 It was a real joy singing the role whilst @andrusiersoprano walked it- a true team effort and a pleasure to perform with my @rncmlive buddy ❤️
Thrilled that @juliamariko has recovered and is now back and absolutely smashing it! 💥
We are only halfway through the opera shorts and the run of Hamlet by Thomas Ambroise — still lots to come. Next week, I’ll also be performing in a Buxton Friends’ concert, exploring some solo repertoire. Can’t wait to share more! 🌟
Just a little update on some upcoming recitals and concerts I have in the next couple of months! I’m so excited to share these performances with you all, and I would love to see you there. Alongside these, I also have a few second-round scholarship auditions and competitions lined up—fingers crossed there will be some exciting updates on those soon! Feeling immensely grateful after an incredible experience at the Barock Vokal Akademie in Mainz, Germany! I had the honor of performing in three stunning concerts, exploring the music of Gregor Joseph Werner, Handel’s cantatas, and his opera Alcina, where I was privileged to be one of the four Alcinas. It was such a pleasure to sing with such talented and lovely young artists. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing coaches who guided me: Jimmy Taylor, for his uplifting instruction and care; Marie-Claire, for teaching us fabulous baroque dance moves and gestures; and Nicholas Tamagna, whose expertise was invaluable as I tackled my Alcina aria. Deep gratitude to the conductors György Vashegyi, Paul Goodwin and Alessandro De Marchi—it was an absolute honor to perform under your direction.
