I’ve been sitting with unreleased inventory. These pants were originally meant to be garment dyed with pigment based inks but due to the nature of fabric, the end result came out a bit runnier than expected. So they sat in storage for a year until I could come up with a solution.
Now, I think I may have just found it. :))
These pants are ultra-wide with two darts at the bottom hem. The waistband is garterized with belt loops. Inside area is made of a mesh fabric (visible if you zoom in the 1st pic) that promotes airflow. The hems can be singed using the attached cord and cord stop for variable fit. Applique front pocket and welt rear pockets.
I’ll figure a few things out and then release them under @kitbash.splinter.group
USB Crown 1/1 Custom for the kings and queens at @__careerhigh for their anniversary. Congrats y’all!
#yipeeeeeeeee
The design process began by hand, with rough sketches on tissue paper (now lost) before taking form through a CAD model developed in OnShape. From there, a series of test prints explored fit and precision, refining the sizing of the crown and the USB enclosures.
The final piece was produced using Polymaker Starlight PLA and Polymaker Glow PLA, selected for their texture and luminosity. To protect the custom metal flash drives, concealed denim patches were introduced behind the USB housing. Hidden from view, these fabric layers act as a buffer against the naturally abrasive blue metallic filament.
Beyond protection, the denim introduces flexibility: a wider tolerance that secures the USBs during movement and handling, while still allowing them to slide out without resistance.
Lamp (not for sale, custom piece)
The lamp was first designed in 3D to generate a pattern that could be cut out and formed.
Before assembly, prototypes were made using paper, and scrap fabric before moving onto cutting the final material for the lamp: cotton linen.
random shapes were cut and sewn on the unassembled pattern pieces freehand.
After completion of the polkadot like design, the form was assembled on a sewing machine.
The raw fabric inside was secured with rolled hems. Channels sewn in for the steel wire to snake through the delicate fabric, helping maintain its shape.
To finish the main side seam, a hand sewn whip stitch was utilized as that portion was no longer accessible for a machine stitch.
Finally, straps were added to the top portion to hang securely from the ceiling.
Had the pleasure of decorating these polos for @anynamesokay
Collar, sleeves, and bottom hem were hit with a hand sewn reinforcing decorative stitch called a blanket stitch for decoration and added strength.
The back is then screen printed with the band’s name with a custom embroidered design featuring iconography from some of the band’s singles applied later.
Custom embroidered name patches were made for each member of the band. Sewn on appliqué style using various hand stitching techniques.
This up cycled sachoche will go to a winner of the cosplay contest later at Con Socialize @come.socialize
