Congratulations to Gionni Foreman! 🎓✨ Gionni has been named a recipient of the HIGHLY competitive Gates Scholarship; an honor awarded to just 750 students nationwide from a pool of more than 61,000 applicants. Gionni started his KIPP DC journey in the 6th grade at Honor Academy. As a Legacy College Preparatory student, he has distinguished himself as a leader and role model throughout his academic journey. He served as a Student Ambassador, Student Athletic Director, and Student Body President as well as the Captain of the varsity football team and a lead actor in Legacy Acts since his freshman year.  Gionni’s achievement as a Gates Scholar highlights not only his academic excellence, but also his leadership, resilience, and deep commitment to supporting his community. Behind every dream is someone who helped make it feel possible. 💙 This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the moms, grandmothers, godmothers, and caregivers who believe in students every step of the way — and trust us to be part of their journey. KIPP Tulsa alum Deanrea Sykes shares how his godmother and his KIPP education helped him see what was possible for his future. Today, he’s pursuing a PhD in Philosophy at Emory University.
