U.S. Champion 🇺🇸 | Tokyo Bound 🇯🇵
66.85m 💥
That’s the farthest throw at a U.S. Championship since my own 68.61m back in 2018.
Series: 60.62, 63.64, 66.85, 65.17, X, 66.55
Just four weeks ago, I couldn’t lift weights or even bend over because of a bulged disc flare-up in my back. To go from that to winning the U.S. title… I’m beyond grateful. Grateful to be healthy, progressing, and competing at a high level.
I came in focused on building each round and putting together a complete series and I executed. In round five, I cramped mid-throw. It felt like something bit me in the leg, so I let it go, even though it was over 65 meters. Same thing happened in round six, but I held it together and still hit 66.55. I was trying to find that fine line between pushing through and protecting my body.
While I know there’s more in the tank, the goal now shifts to Tokyo. The last time I was there was for the Olympic Games in 2021 and I’m so proud to be representing Team USA again. Hoping and praying to bring home a medal for our country.
All glory to God. Thank you to my team, my circle, and everyone who’s believed in me through it all.

After hip surgery, herniated discs, and rebuilding my body at the elite level, I had to completely change how I train my core.
These are 6 exercises I still use as a Team USA Olympian to build rotational power, improve hip mobility, and keep my low back healthy under high training loads.
Most athletes train for power but ignore control, stability, and durability.
That’s usually why breakdown happens.
This is rotational core training built for performance AND longevity.
Windshield wipers
Hip flexor mobility + rotation
Overhead sumo side bends
Sumo hinge
Lateral bounds
Med ball slams
Train to be powerful.
Train to stay healthy.
Train to last.

Discus Throw —An event where oversized ballerinas spin in circles and launch metal plates for distance without falling over.

69.09m. #2 in the world. #1 in the U.S.
66.82m, 67.51m, 67.09m, 69.09m, 68.09m, x.
Not very windy for the lefty competition at 10am in Oklahoma.
Took a step forward with my technical cues, but there’s more in the tank. Still building. Progress.

65m for the second time this week… in a right-handed world.
I am the Left Handed World Record Holder at 69.16m.
Wind matters more than people think. 99% of the time, venues position the ring for a right crosswind, which is very beneficial for right-handed athletes… and not built for athletes like me, left-handed athletes.
Call it what it is… right privilege. Even a little right supremacy built into the system.
I’ve dealt with it my whole career. No complaints. Just adjustments.
Still here. Still throwing. Still winning.
At times, discus feels like the Wild Wild West. No real standard for conditions. I believe there should be wind-legal and wind-aided marks, just like in the sprints. That’s how you professionalize the event.
There have been plenty of times I was in 70m shape… and walked away with 68, 66, or 65 because of wind that put me at a deficit.
I don’t chase perfect conditions… I build consistency so I can perform in any of them.
To the lefties… there’s always a way.
Oklahoma this week. One of the only places in the U.S. with multiple ring directions.
For once… I should get the wind on my side.

#1 in the U.S. 5th in the world 🌎
65.23 for the win at the UCSD Triton Invitational in tough conditions. 2nd week with another 65m throw. Consistent 64–65m series with a big foul, I know there’s more there.
Not satisfied. Learned a lot from this one. Time to clean up execution and lock in on the fundamentals this week.
Healthier, not 100%, and building.
