Hey beautiful people! Lately I have gotten quite a few comments asking me, when I’m gonna go back to doing my own quirky style of music. And I understand that it might be a bit confusing following me sometimes 🙃One day I’m on an ambient release and the other I’m doing K-pop and Eurovision.
But listen, I actually stopped caring about genres a long time ago. I stopped caring about being cool or within one aesthetic a long time ago. And I set myself free to just do what I love. The best decision I ever made! I love writing music. And all the other stuff is just ego. Life is too short. So I won’t stay in my lane. I might do a u-turn. I go with the flow and where the good energy is. There might be a Kill J track dropped here or there, but there is just too much other fun music to be written for me to limit myself. Årets arbejdslegater for musik fra @statenskunstfond er nu blevet offentliggjort. Antallet af fantastiske, tankevækkende, dybe, gennemarbejdede, intelligente og bevægende ansøgninger var overvældende. Tak for hver eneste af dem. Og stort tillykke til alle legatmodtagere!
Det stigende antal ansøgere betyder desværre, at der er langtfra midler nok til, at vi kan give til alle dem, vi gerne ville give til. Faktisk har vi måttet give flere afslag i år, end der var ansøgere i alt for bare nogle ganske få år siden.
Vi håber ikke, at det tager modet fra nogen. Tværtimod kan vi kun opfordre alle kolleger, der ikke fik, til at søge igen til næste ansøgningsfrist; og i øvrigt indtrængende indstille til en kommende regering – hvilken partipolitisk sammensætning den end måtte få – at dens kulturpolitik måtte have åbne ører for den enorme talentmasse af professionelle skabende musikere, komponister, sangskrivere og producere i Danmark i sin fulde bredde.
