Coming back from an ankle injury after four months of physical therapy has me moving intentionally and patiently. Grateful for my health and stoked to work on my strength as I get back to it 💪❣️
@snowbowlsd is a quad and inline pool competition held at City Heights Skatepark in San Diego, California. There were nine skaters competing between both quad and inline that travelled from as far as New York and the San Francisco Bay Area and as close as down the street. Our main goal was to bring two communities together, as well as strengthen the community of skaters in the greater San Diego area. We wanted to create a competition that was fun but challenging, hoping to push skaters out of their comfort zones. We noticed a lack of community in San Diego and realized not a lot of events were happening down here, so we thought up Snowbowl—we figure if you want to see a change in your community you have to be the change. If we want our industries and communities to grow, we have to put the effort in to showing up and being present. Although it is a competition, our main goal was to have fun and show everyone that we can support each other’s communities—when one of us wins, we all do. Just the fact that this competition was able to happen so successfully was a win in our books. — @killer_k80

Snow Bowl 2026 has come to a close, and we want to congratulate our winners. Silvia Kambouridis in 1st place, Miguel Ramos in 2nd place, and Hayden Ball in 3rd place. A congrats and thank you to all of our ripping competitors!
We wanted to hold a competition like this to bring the communities from our two sports together to celebrate each other’s wins. We also felt that Southern California, and specifically San Diego, is lacking in events and competitions that not only promote the roller skate and inline industries, but also challenge skaters to push their skills and skate outside of their comfort zone.
We were overwhelmed by the amount of support from both communities on the day of the event. It showed us that an event like this is possible if we have enough people willing to put in the work. We learned that if you want to see a change in your community, you have to be the one to change it. If you don’t like it, change it. If it’s not there, create it. Thank you so much to all the rippers that showed up and everyone who helped us set up and run the event without us asking for that support. Showing up matters, and everyone that showed up made a positive impact on the energy of the day. We are so excited to do this again next year. If you were one of those people hesitant to participate or compete, take this as your sign to step outside of your comfort zone and support your community, you never know the positive impact you may have on someone.
