There are some exciting changes happening at Killara Café Mt. Atkinson!
We are currently developing a new native-inspired menu that also reflects the local community.
Through our recent Touch, Taste, Smell Event which was led by Chef Greg Hampton, we were able to bring many communities together and provide a better understanding of First Nations Culture through delicious food.
We hope to showcase this through our ongoing food offering, whilst also introducing a general store model that provides a selection of general pantry and fridge items.
We are also looking to revise our opening hours to ensure a high quality service throughout the week. Stay tuned through our socials and at the café for when these changes will be made!

I found a super affordable party venue @killara_cafe located 23km northwest of Melbourne in Mt Atkinson. It backs onto an incredible park. I’ve been here with my kids a couple times, grabbed a coffee and a bite and spoke with staff regarding venue hire.

It was a great day out for the @killara_cafe team last Saturday for the Mt. Atkinson Open Doors Festival, bringing communities together while platforming social enterprise!
Our very own coffee cart was on show, serving up coffees with fresh new beans from @humblebrag.au , a social enterprise sourcing and roasting high quality, ethical coffee that donates 50% of profits to support Indigenous young peoples and international aid programs.
A shout out also to @streatmelbourne , another leading social enterprise supporting young people throughout Naarm, who’s pantry products can now be purchased through the café. From classic granola, to mango chutney and strawberry rubarb jam, these staples use local produce and are preservative-free, with all profits going back into providing wrap around support and employment pathways to vulnerable young people through their youth programs.

It was a fun day out at Mt. Atkinson on Saturday as @killara_cafe hosted it’s ‘Touch, Taste, Smell’ Event alongside chef Greg Hampton!
It was a great opportunity for the local community to connect with and celebrate First Nations Cultures by learning more about native foods and trying out some native infused dishes.
There was live music from storyteller and deadly guitarist @robertkchampmusic , and an interactive cultural workshop ran by Kylie Skew’s Cultural Connections.
