doing a short live set tonite at The 8th Floor in response to @double_trebbl installation Total Running Time. I was flying high off reading Ghost In The Wire so I wrote some music thinking about two tones + blue boxes + phone use in prison. It is a fundraiser for HEARD and runs from 6-830 be there or else. Bringing together performances by Julia Santoli & Grout, HPIN, LYDO, and Kilbourne, with a reading by Eva Cilman, each unfolding in 15-minute intervals. Amplified through embedded transducers and external systems, sound registers within and beyond the wall, moving through contact, interruption, repetition, and duration.

HEARD is an abolitionist, cross-disability organization dedicated to ending violence against and incarceration of deaf and disabled individuals. Founded in 2011, it supports deaf/disabled incarcerated people, combats wrongful convictions, and provides reentry support via grassroots advocacy and mutual aid. $10-20 suggested donation at the door.
