If you’re not yet familiar with the work of Sydney based multi-instrumentalist @binoblip , prepare to have your eyes and ears blown after watching this week’s Feature Video Boy - a breakbeat thumping track about a deadbeat dad who smokes in his kid’s face, gets shaken down by gangsters and gets in fist fights during birthday parties.   “Boy is an unhinged rant from an egocentric man with an external locus of control. His shortcomings are the work of the devil and those who succeed have only done so out of luck,” says Jakob.   Aussie directing duo Harrison Friend and Sam Stevenson, who go by the name @kidsofbill , have become quite the collaborative force with Bino Blip since he come on to the scene, partnering up for a number of high octane music videos that transform Jakob’s absurd song character narrators and heavy themes into visual spectacles that asks the very serious question of - “How can this be more stupid?”.   Our main goal was to be as unserious as possible with this Daddy foder, beaucase let’s be honest, it’s not fresh territory,” says Kids Of Bill. “The three of us mulled over the most cringe behaviours associated with boy/manhood. No hate on gender reveals, but they’re often a modern tragedy. The whole arc (if you want to call it that) spawned off a Father who’s WAY too happy he’s having a boy, then proceeds to be the worst Dad/Husband ever and raises yet another ratbag boy to cause havoc in the world.”

We’re damn excited to announce our short ‘Mutt’ will be screening at St. Kilda Film Festival in 2024. We shot almost a year ago and have been itching to start sharing with audiences. Will be amazing to see with a crowd in June 🫂 We weren’t sure what to expect when building our cast and crew from day one, and ever since that moment we’ve been spoiled to death, in awe of the people that have helped us along the way.
