year of the DOUBLE FIRE HORSE the speed of 2026 rewards the bold
i painted this playfully a few months ago during yom kippur because i wanted to use oil sticks for the first time, not realizing the significance of 2026 on the lunar cal. i just like drawing horses because yeehaw.
I learned yesterday that I’m in a double fire horse year, meaning 2026 will move FAST and it’s a good time to be ambitious and brave. catch me running toward my dreams this year. catch me unafraid of change. or don’t catch me actually because im so speedy 🐎 🔥
those who know me well may recall the years i spent roaming around seattle a full cowboy diva. I was learning to tattoo, sharing art daily and fearlessly building community. I felt truly free. I had a near death experience in 2020 that changed everything. It forced me to confront fear and dig up buried feelings i’d never faced. At some expense to my childlike freedom and commitment to play, I had healing to do.
It’s been a quieter era in my life. I’ve gone in to find myself, focused on recovery and building a strong foundation for my future. That playful cowboy never left me, but I shed a layer and became a new version of myself that was more in touch with my feelings and my intention.
a year ago I moved to new york to grow. I spent the last year in sponge-mode. planting roots, finding new rhythms to move to and building a home. I can now fully say I’M HERE. this city is built for hustle and the stars are tasking me with drive.
I’m ready to re-engage my sense of freedom and bravery. 2026 i’m gonna become the fusion of myself: grounded, secure, introspective, dreamy, playful, brave, baddie. yeehaw wabi sabi!

I create to feel. Final project for the @houseofgul flower fellowship 🦢
This fellowship encouraged me to focus deeply on intention setting and inspiration gathering. I learned to draw focus inward, practiced mediation and found inspiration through present observation and reverie. I feel my process slowing down and becoming more expressive. Grateful to @alitheblissful and our cohort of designers.
