FROM RHUMBACANE TO ZITAKAZOPENDWA, PRINCE YABA RETURNS WITH NEW EP WAPE WAPE
Nairobi, Kenya — After building his artistic journey through projects like Rhumbacane and the culturally inspired Zitakazopendwa album, Yaba is back with a brand-new 5-track EP titled WAPE WAPE, set for release on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Known for blending authentic Kenyan rhumba with contemporary African sounds,Yaba continues to evolve his sound while staying rooted in storytelling.
WAPE WAPE explores growth, and modern African experiences through smooth melodies & rich production.
Speaking on the project, Prince Yaba says:
“WAPE WAPE is more than just rhumba — it’s emotion, lifestyle, love, culture, and growth. This project reflects where I am creatively today.”
The EP was produced by
@jb.studioz @jclint.producer , who also handled the beats and guitars, while mixing and mastering was done by
@sofresh254 . Special credit goes to
@mary_erica_ , the session musician who played the orutu on Adhiambo. And
@bassman_azangu Bass on Ni mbaya.
The project is executive produced by Yaba, managed by
