WALK IN YOUR PURPOSE AND TRUST IN THE PROCESS.
It’s been a journey with this one, especially battling the elements the past few weeks. Nonetheless, I’m grateful to have been invited to paint a section of such an iconic building in the centre of Sheffield.
I created a design I felt works with the unusual composition of the concrete elevation; by wrapping the text around the corner of Cross Burgess Street, the aim is to draw viewers to a specific viewpoint where the work can be read in a single instance, and perhaps take a moment to reflect on their own path and alignment, whatever that might be.
The arrows represent the different directions we’re all heading in, celebrating the diversity and individuality of the city. I’d also encourage people to take a moment to appreciate the incredible historic backdrop, which I look forward to seeing restored to its former glory.

Last year me and my brother attended @thepeoplespyramid as Brick Bearers.
For almost 10 years, my brother (@chipsforthepoor ) kept a matchbox with 23grams of our Dad’s ashes in. As it turned out, this was the exact amount required to have a Brick of Mu fired, add him to the People’s Pyramid and honour his legacy as part of this annual ritual, which happens in Liverpool on November 23rd.
It was an incredible experience and we both feel sure It’s what he would’ve wanted.
Afterwards, I made some drawings of the day using various photos as reference with the intention of making a zine of some sort. The fanzine hasn’t happened yet, but the intention is still there. As I’m about to head over to Birkenhead again this year, I wanted to share some of these sketches with you. I’ll be collecting more reference images to make more drawings to complete the zine in the new year.
