Looking back on 2025, it’s hard not to feel incredibly grateful for the year I’ve had working with
@ohpraytell .
Through thick and thin, it’s been a wild and deeply rewarding ride. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing these humans grow not only as a band, but as individuals. The evolution over the past year has been powerful to be part of. Today, they release their first EP together as a three-piece project — something I’ve watched unfold through an incredible journey of discovery, collaboration, and trust in a shared sound.
In Spring 2025, I worked with them as we toured throughout the East and West Kootenays, as well as Vancouver and the West Coast, bringing the project into communities across British Columbia. Each stop deepened the work and strengthened our connection to audiences around the province. In October, I joined them at Pacific Contact, where we expanded presenter relationships and built meaningful industry connections that will carry forward into future seasons.
We also filmed two major music videos this year — Poor Black Woman Blues (shot in May and releasing soon) and What She Gonna Make (filmed in September and coming later this year). These projects represent a significant creative leap and a major investment of time, energy, and belief in where this music is heading.
Over the past year, I was honoured to help steward support from Creative BC (Emerging Artist & Business Foundations, as well as an Emerging Artist Grant), BC Arts Council (Tour Funding), Canada Council for the Arts (Micro Grant and Major Project Grant), and FACTOR (Tour Funding). This support has been instrumental in making the work possible.
Looking ahead, Oh Pray Tell will be opening for
@piqsiq_music in just a couple of days (March 2026).
I want to sincerely thank
@creativebcs and
@cityofvancouver for supporting the managerial side of this work — including hundreds of hours of administration, arts business development, studio support, and foundational initiatives that allow projects like this to grow sustainably in British Columbia.
