In weird moments when you forget you’re ESA CHICA, you have to go back to your photo archive and remind yourself that you are the self proclaimed advocate of the formal hot concept and go on with your life 🫂

Being creative with people you admire is something I don’t take for granted. Brittany (@bravocado._ ) was one of the first believers in our community of @la.artisteada and shared her beautiful space @bravostudios._ with us for our first networking events and then for the podcast. I remember always coming in and admiring her eye for creativity every time I saw the photographs hanging on her walls. Even how she styled them in a way that felt so much like home. Well, I finally got the HONOR to be part of her creative process and I was so excited to see what we created through her lens. I’m forever a fan of @bravocado._ <3

I’m just sooo grateful, God put a dream in my heart that I’m not going to lie it’s definitely weird jajaja like I want to be a host of a talk show? Like WHO DREAMS THAT when there’s no career path for such a thing, but also I didn’t even study anything to do with creative industries, how did we even get here? But God did lead me to study two degrees that helped me understand society and the injustices of our people locally and across the world. How historically systems have been built to push Black & Brown folks out financially lucrative spaces. And then, I got the opportunity to be part of one of these systems: entertainment. Knowing nothing about the industry, I ended up in some of the top places. However, I always felt like my impact, despite how loud I was or how strong my connection was to people, it wasn’t sustainable. So in me trying to put my little granito de arena and combining all of my passions, La Artisteada came along. Not on my own, but in community, with friends, with people that remind me that it is possible. That we can create our own thing, with A LOT of patience and passion we can build spaces where Black and Brown communities are at the center. Where our creativity isn’t questioned. A lot of people didn’t quite understand it at first, maybe even now, but I believe that we are setting the foundation to greatness. We are all growing, in our vision, in our rhythm, even in our collective leadership styles. And I love it. I also always pray before our events that God is present, and that people feel seen and celebrated in every space we create. I’m grateful that God continues to show up. Im grateful that he continues to deliver his grace upon me and I can be a channel of His goodness. Because yes, there is a lot of evil everywhere, and we are all doing our collective efforts to protect each other from it. But I am grateful that God continues to show up, even in hard moments, and I just pray that we can all feel his everlasting love, and that we can heal collectively, in community, and celebrate Black and Brown talent in unexpected ways, always. I’m just feeling so grateful. 📸 @celestialarchiv3

And ladies… TAKE 🔈THE 🔈STAGE This past Sunday, we hosted our biggest event yet, a curated music showcase centered around talented Black and Brown women artists. We’re beyond grateful for everyone that showed up, everyone that showcased their talent, and more than anything, everyone that has worked so hard to develop their creative careers. To: @mocodeoro @whosbellarabbit @sirenasoundslike @grupodulceagave @heyits0liviamae @santamykah @toniithemusical @vinlisamusic @zamythi These artists gave vocals. They gave a show. They gave us the best energy for our first-ever TAKE THE STAGE. We also recognize that this event came to life because of the people around us who believed in this vision and believe this will continue to grow. Creating spaces where diversity is at the center will always be the goal. Thank you to @WhiskeyHotelLA for providing a space to bring together a community that wants to see the music industry change for the better. To the @Sueno team for being there from 11am to 11pm, helping us set the stage so the artists could take it! To @SheIsTheMusic our community partner that does this work year-round. Your support helped us curate this show, and we’re so grateful for the work you do and for supporting ideas and events like this one! Thank you @mariscosmarias for helping us feed ALL of our teams throughout the day, we appreciate you showing up for us! And everyone else who helped bring this event together: @industryinspanglish @voz.360 @hisongglobal @teddyberin @flowers_sq @celestialarchiv3 @saratvianna @unasimpleyaucana @_kimberlyaustin @karmenhuertatv Footage by @diego_lopezda & @christinejubilee #takethestage #laartisteada #womaninmusic

I love being a woman, but I love even more sharing space with more women. It was truly an honor to be a moderator at the @miralafilmfest mixer last week. Talking about important topics such as motherhood & being over 50 in the entertainment industry. Although I don’t belong in either group, I got the chance to ask questions that honestly ARE in my thoughts about the future, like having children as a working professional when there’s a lack of structure or sometimes consistency in these roles; or the challenges and opportunities of restarting a career after 50 when the industry is ageist. I had the opportunity to be part of the inauguration of this year’s @miralafilmfest , and now, I’m happy that everyone can enjoy the festival. Make sure to attend tomorrow and enjoy a day of impactful films done by talented visionaries in entertainment, who continue to make space for themselves and others in this industry!

This is for the girlas & folks who menstruate only! Pues les cuento, I am A FAN of @somosmartina . In my trip to Panamá, the worst thing that could happen to me, happened: I got my period… (okay maybe a bit dramatic, but that is the last thing I needed when I was going to be at the beach D:) Thankfully, I remembered @somosmartina exists (and no, this is not a sponsored post), and I reached out to buy their swimsuit for periods. As someone who doesn’t use tampons, it truly was a LIFESAVER. I got it quickly and I was able to enjoy 1) being in a swimsuit at the beach & 2) simply enjoy the beach and get in the water without fearing for my life (and my period). But beyond this, @somosmartina does so much amazing work in Colombia for women, you should check them out and buy their period panties too. It is one of those companies that I am obsessed with, and specially since they saved my experience at the beach. You know I LOVE wearing bikinis specifically, I feel my best in them, I do have to say I was a tiny bit sad I was going to wear a one piece swimsuit, BUT it’s so fitting and comfortable, that I didn’t even mind it and still felt like a cutie patotie <3 For Women’s History Month, let’s normalize brands that are truly making a beautiful impact in the world.
