I haven’t had the chance to express my gratitude and my love for everybody yet.
When we started filming, I wasn’t sure what I wanted this project to be. I just knew I wanted it to be as real as it could be, and to be felt more than watched. The amount of people who have connected and related in some form or another, I just can’t tell you how that feels. It was so easy to love making this film.
To the BARCUD team , especially Jo, Toby and Zahra, - thank you for investing your time, energy and patience in to this project. For being with me through it all and believing in me. For being yourselves and for sharing these moments that, for me, will last a lifetime and now, cemented in time and picture. I’m so happy that it was you guys.
To my friends & family - what can I say apart from I love you. Thank you for being willing to put yourselves in an intimate and vulnerable environment to tell your piece of our story. We are now forever cemented in time, together, as one and I thank each and every one of you for sharing this incredible opportunity with me. There is so much talent, so much potential in where we’re from. In who we are. Never forget that you are capable and never let who you’ve been dictate who you’re going to be. These things are possible for people like us and you can be whoever the fuck you want to be in this world.
And to all of you - everybody who watched the film, everybody who posted it, liked it, shared it. All the texts and calls. All the kind words. You just can’t make this shit up, man. I’m just a young lad, from the middle of nowhere. I physically can’t put in to words how much all your love means to me.
We all have a story to tell. Every single one of us. Writing a book, trying to fill the pages so that when we’re finally done writing, we can look back and be content in our efforts. As hard as it is to turn the page sometimes, someday you’ll read back and thank yourself that you did.
Turn that page, start writing, so that someday, you can tell your story.
