At one point, I thought that this song wouldn’t really match where I was going. How little I knew about myself and the plans God had for me… I’m working to get this back up on streaming platforms and in some other places but in the meantime I wanted to share the song and the lyrics here. (Thanks for the push to share it in this way @a.b.eastwood ) This song is about what it was like and has been like to be a young man navigating faith. I was at the beginning of trying to find his own relationship with God and someone said when in doubt just follow the red letters—the teachings of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible. I grew up a Christian and new the stories I was taught in Bible study, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. I was churched but hadn’t yet taken ownership of my relationship with God. Yet, I had been undergirded and guided by foundational truths like doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. God had God’s hand on me even when I thought I was too far out and too far gone. That’s what this song is about and I hope these lyrics help you like they have helped me.
