Today, we took action to protect our youth and communities from the growing public health risks of nitrous oxide misuse.
This legislation will help limit where nitrous oxide can be bought and sold, especially as brightly colored packaging and flavored products continue to make these harmful products more accessible and appealing to young people.
Los Angeles will not wait for a crisis to get worse before stepping in. We are acting now to protect families, support healthier neighborhoods, and make sure our young people are not treated as targets for profit.
Thank you to Councilmember John Lee, San Fernando Valley Partnership, Homeboy Industries, Khoolaid, and the students from Bert Corona Charter for standing with us to protect our neighborhoods and keep these products out of the hands of our youth.
