Last Friday, our Recruitment and Outreach team, alongside Dr. Han, Dean of the School of Pharmacy, OTD faculty, Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Salama, proudly represented KGI at the 16th Annual Mt. Sac Health Professions Conference - Many Paths, One Purpose. Throughout the day, our team connected with a wide range of pre-health students, sharings insights into our programs and pathways.
We would like to personally thank Dr. Han, Dr. Salama, and Dr. Sanchez for their engaging presentations and for participating in the tabling session to connect directly with interested students. It was a successful event and we’re excited for the future students we met!
Your future as a Beaker Bee starts here 🐝
Grateful for an incredible evening hosting our PPA Educational Dinner in collaboration with Sanofi! 💚
We had the opportunity to learn about early intervention in Type 1 diabetes, including the role of teplizumab (Tzield) in pediatric patients. Thank you to our speakers, Dr. Tadeh Vartanian and Dr. Moinuddin Mokhashi, for leading this discussion.
For the 2025–2026 school year, PPA focused on reviving the SoCal Pediatric Pharmacy Group. One of our main goals has been to strengthen connections across the pediatric pharmacy community and create a space where pharmacists can collaborate and network.
This event brought together pediatric pharmacists, hospital pharmacists, KGI preceptors, clinical faculty, and students to build connections and foster meaningful conversations.
Thank you to our advisors, our dedicated executive board, and everyone who attended and made this evening a success! 🧸💊
Last week we hosted our Induction Ceremony to welcome our new members! 💚💛
Congratulations to our new initiates and executive board! We hope to continue to see everyone exemplify great leadership in pharmacy🥼
Big achievements for our Beaker Bees 🐝
Adriana Hamar '27 earned a nationally competitive conference registration grant from the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP). This award recognizes her strong application, personal statement, and faculty endorsement – highlighting her leadership and commitment to mental health and wellbeing.
Earlier this week, Adriana attended the AAPP Annual Meeting in Seattle, where she presented her accepted therapeutic case report abstract, “I Didn’t Know It Was Addictive: Severe Kratom and 7-Hydroxymitragynine Dependence in a Young Adult.”
“Presenting at the conference was an incredibly rewarding experience,” she shared. “I had the opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals and students, educate others on kratom and its potential risks, and received encouraging feedback on the importance of raising awareness. This experience reinforced the value of sharing knowledge within the healthcare community.”
We’re proud to see our students leading important conversations in healthcare 👏

At KGI, our programs are designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and real-world experience needed to tackle the most pressing challenges facing society today.
Our PharmD Class of 2025 are exemplars of this — with 86% of the class passing the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) on the first try since their graduation last May, according to the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education's calendar year report.
We are proud of KGI PharmD graduates and can't wait to see how they change the biotech and healthcare industries. 🐝

Thanks to Steven Doan, Marc Refuerzo, Rizza Anabelle De Luna, and the 16 additional @keckgrad student volunteers who helped make last month's San Gabriel Valley Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists banquet a success! 👏
KGI Professor Dr. Daniel Kudo was among the 100 attendees, including many pharmacy school deans from USC, Chapman, UCI, and Loma Linda. @KGIpharmD students worked hard to organize the event and get 16 pharmaceutical companies to sponsor the evening, a banquet to install the new executive board for pharmacists for the San Gabriel Valley Chapter.
Your new PharmD family is just a click away! Email [email protected] or visit cshp.org to find out how to get involved.
