We’re pleased to present “Deconstructing Landscape,” a co-curated exhibition by Kathleen Forde (@kfjorde ), Director and Curator of Media Arts, and Meagan Robson, Collections Manager, featuring over thirty-five rotating works from the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation collection, opening June 26, 2026, with artists reimagining the traditional picturesque landscape across time-based media, photography, painting, and sculpture. Throughout history, artists have responded to the seductive and often sublime drama of the open sky, infinite sea, mountains, forests, sunsets, and sunrises. They have captured, channeled, and, at times, deconstructed nature’s potential for rapture. Through their work, artists process this experience of the natural world and its power to provoke our imagination. On view June 26 through Spring 2027 Art Vault, 540 S. Join us tomorrow at Art Vault from 5-7 PM for the RAD Last Friday Artwalk! See works like @johngerrard.inst 's “Ghost Feed” (pictured here), which will be on view as part of “Ephemeral Acts” through May. In “Ghost Feed,” a spider monkey sits nearly motionless in a virtual forest, immobilized by a smartphone screen that loops an endless feed of its own reflection. As day fades into night in this live-generated, game-engine-driven simulation, flames drawn from real footage of wildfires ravaging the Amazon and California slowly consume the landscape. Meanwhile, the monkey remains unaware or indifferent to its surroundings, capturing the paralyzing sense of global inertia amid unraveling ecosystems. Thrilled to be opening my first show with the Thoma Foundation team at the Art Vault in Santa Fe tonight! - “Lucid Dreaming: Hallucinations and Alternate Realities from the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation Collection.” Drawn from the @thomafoundation collection, this exhibition presents works by artists who provoke us to think about the world we live in, the ground we stand on and to reconsider the physical and psychological world we previously thought of as fixed as something more flexible and capable of change. This selection of nearly 30 artworks includes recent acquisitions by Cardiff & Miller, Miles Greenberg, Teresa Hubbard / Alexander Birchler, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Jennifer and Kevin McCoy, among others. ❤️ - (1) Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller. Scenes from the incredible Electric Op exhibition at Buffalo AKG today . . . thanks to @tinariversryan . The show uniquely and brilliantly tracks the six-decade history of the enduring relationship between Op art and electronic art and culture. It was likewise an inspiration to see multiple works from the Thoma Foundation collection on view in the mix!

Bill Viola, the master of seeing time, RIP and Ascension! Ever grateful for the impact he had on media art being embraced as simply contemporary art. I am honored to have had the opportunity to curate a recent-ish (2019) solo exhibition of his work at Borusan Contemporary, Istanbul in around the concept of Impermanence in collaboration with Kira Perov. Memories above. ❤️to @billviolastudio @johnhanhardt @jamescohangallery
