Man, what an incredible week it's been for music. I attended 3 concerts in the last 5 days (and played one, but didn't get any pics) - please enjoy this recap:
First up, saw
@themarsvolta and
@terigenderbender at the newly-renovated Uptown Theater. Been dying to see The Mars Volta since getting into them right around the time they went on hiatus haha. So glad they came back and I got the chance to see them live. This was a bucket list show for me, and was absolutely incredible.
Next up, saw
@coheed for the umpteenth time, but had the distinct pleasure of seeing
@deafheavenband for the first time as well! Coheed played a behemoth set of an album and a half worth of music, which was of course immaculate. Deafheaven is such an impressive band - I've become a huge fan recently and can't wait to see them again.
Tonight, the long awaited
@sleep_token ritual. If you've talked to me at all in the last year or two, I've probably geeked out about Sleep Token to you, or tried my hand at getting you to check them out. This band is great fun to me, and I love them dearly. Tonight's performance was everything I could have hoped for, and I look forward to the next time they come through. Final video is the ever-impressive
@ii_sleeptoken ripping an incredible solo during The Summoning. II is a certified drum inspiration for me at this point, and a large part of why I love this band so much. Worship.
