This trip was truly just a New York minute, but I'm heading home with a full heart. Performing at @thestonewallinn was amazing- getting to finally perform as Xena was another dream come true- and it won't be the last time! The costume was incidentally my first journey into cosplay- trying to make it look as authentic as possible without breaking the bank. Until a couple weeks ago, I had no idea about eva foam or foam clay and the science of heat guns. Thanks to @kamuicosplay for the inspo and how-to's on YouTube. There were a lot of malfunctions after starting on this a little later than I should have, but from what people have told me, apparently I'm the only one who knew about them. Thanks @vbtrpzzxx for being my Gabrielle and enthusiastically stepping up for the assignment with only a crash course in the Xena lore. Thanks @glamvampsburlesque for finally getting me to Stonewall this year and to @djchaunceyd for being a great host, promoter, DJ and lighting crew. Shout out to @dantevelour for coming out here with me, supporting me, being patient as I continued to toil the whole day before the show, carrying my stuff, cooking and cleaning in the rental and even making a cameo for @gendyneutch as Chapelle's man in fugly jeans 😅 Next stop: Schitt's Creek!
