My desperate letter to Gigi D’Agostino
@gigidag back in 2022 when we were doing post production of KIC1 😅
One of my earliest ideas for KIC was the first scene where Tommy hits a guy in the head with a crutch (scroll to see the scene) The idea derived from me listening to Gigi’s track “La Passion”. Gigi was unattainable at that moment due to health issues, and when we finally got an answer it was “No”, haha. Which I totally respect since we had so little money and the scene depicts violence.
Luckily the scene worked with 666’s «Supdadupa Fly», altough «La Passion» would have made the scene slightly more passionate.
There’s so many things I could say about this scene. First off it was the first scene we ever shot of KIC, and my first experience with Kristian Repshus
@mrkrepshus on set. I remember being utterly excited over how perfect he embodied the character of Tommy Montana. Just the way he spits at the start of the scene! A move that was my co-writer Audun’s
@pedalsyre idea which illustrates his role in the project as well, always topping the cake.
The scene was for the pilot, as a proof of concept. It’s the only scene shot on 16mm the rest of KIC is shot on digital and VHS, but we ended up using it anyway cause we were so happy with it. It was shot by my friend Kristian Engelsen
@kriseng Shout out to Bekim
@bekim_brahimi for the stunt also! (Slide to see the stunt test with

The scene is based on an actual event - Martin Sama’s infamous crutch hit at Hannestad disco back in 2000 / 2001.
